First of all, Happy Birthday early (next week) to Woodysgirl as she and I share the exact same birthday.

Is it just me, or am I the only one who as I get older, doesn't want to celebrate their own birthday? It's not an underlying fear of getting older and it's not a reminder of my mortality. I just don't see the value of saying, "Hey, it's my birthday yet again!!!" What's the point? I don't mind celebrating others' birthdays since it makes them happy but I just would rather that day I popped into the world to go discreetly by.

I stopped having birthdays at 27. I find it rather convenient. ;)

Anyway...happy soon-to-be birthday to both of you!

I enjoy every birthday. It's a blessing to have lived another year, no matter how good or bad it might have been.

I always look forward to my new year with optimism. It's not as important to celebrate with others as it is for me to set new goals for the next year.

I'm having low-key celebrations this year. Nothing too outrageous. In the past, I would celebrate a whole month, but now I'm just going to celebrate a couple weekends and leave it at that.

No problem, we'll be sure to ignore your birthday :laugh2:

You laugh, but I'd appreciate if if you would. :D I only mentioned mine because I thought it was cool that I share it with someone else on here.

...who is a proponent of the birthday "month". I relish it and hold my wife and family to it every year.

If you personally don't enjoy your birthday I'm certain there's a loved one who is happier for another year with you.

It's all good and don't worry about things you can't control - like your birthday.

I'm with you Rowdy. I'd just as soon my b-day come and go w/o any fanfare.

But since WG likes her b-day........Happy early one to ya!
