Once again, you're talking out your rear. Feel free to name all the 1st rounders they've taken the past five years.

Early defensive draft picks:

Tyson Alualu
Dante Fowler
Jonathan Cyprien
Sen'Derrick Marks
Bjoern Werner
Jalen Ramsey
Myles Jack

Most of what they take don't pan out. They sign everybody else's highly drafted veterans in free agency.

Jared Odrick
Paul Pozluzsny
Prince Amakamura

Some teams draft high and spend money every year, yet nothing ever changes.

Have you looked at our defensive draft since JG took over? Here are the picks from rounds 1-4. Pretty sad.

Aluala (2010) has been a solid NFL pro, not spectacular.

Dante Fowler didn't play a snap last year due to injury.

Cyprien was a 2nd round pick in 2013.
Werner was a 1st round mistake by the Colts.
Marks was a 2nd round pick by the Titans.

Ramsey and Jack (2nd round pick) that are rookies.

Count me as on board with Coples....not sure if he has to go through waivers...

Woerner's career never took off because he is a 4-3 DE and the Colts tried to make him a 3-4 OLB. Terrible idea. We aren't the only one that does stupid ****.

They were a 43 early in his career there and he struggled too.

Maybe he just wasn't happy playing for the Jags.

We definitely could use the help at DE.Maybe we could get a good year or two out of him like we did with Relondo..

I would bring Coples in for a look see. What could it possibly hurt? He has to be better than Russell
The one thing the struck me about Coples when he was in college was that he only did one thing. He was really fast off the snap and really rushed the passer well as an edge rusher. That was literally all he could do. On running plays, he would fly around the edge gunning for the qb. He appeared totally oblivious to the play call. I was like, "Who is this guy? He's got no football IQ at all but looks like a great athlete. Whoever drafts this guy is wasting a pick."

I could not believe he was a first rounder. Unbelievable.

With that said, maybe Coach can get something out of him. But he hasn't proven to be good enough in his last few stops to be just an edge rusher. I hope we pass...
