Any other conspiracy theorists out there wonder if the Gruden public comments re: RGIII were part of a tough-love last-ditch plan to get him to focus on this product on the field?

I just want him to focus tomorrow
then he can fall apart

Me, too. I bet he plays well. It's not going to matter, though, unless PHI just comes out completely flat. I wish they had the Giants this week and the Skins the next. I do think the Giants could realistically surprise them if they caught them at the right time.

Agreed...focused enough so the skins beat the eagles and then fall apart when they face the Cowboys.

You don't want the Skins spoiling the Eagles season in week 16 and then unsmiling it and spoiling the Cowboys season in week 17?

Me either. Let's just beat the Colts and avoid that situation completely.

That said, I'd actually feel pretty ok going against the Skins in week 17 this year with the playoffs on the line. They're bad, and there's no way we won't play our best for that game. The rivalry won't matter as much in that case because there'd be so much at stake for the Cowboys it'll swamp the rivalry factor. I hope.

I did think that.
Then I thought if RGIII gets his act together and performs for Gruden
Then all would be fine.

But I think Gruden doesn't see "it" in RGIII and wants to pick his own QB.... Probably through draft.
Unless there is a Drew Bree's out there. That his best POA!

No way.

If anything. We now know FOR SURE that they eagles will be ready for us each and every time we play.

Chip is Legit!

I agree that Chip absolutely is nowhere near the hot seat. I don't necessarily agree with the second part of your statement. The Eagles did not appear to be ready for Dallas the last two times the Cowboys played in Philly.

I'm gonna throw Marvin Lewis in this mix, if the Bengals dont make the playoffs

Like Gruden in DC ... Chip will need to get "his" in the draft! If he's smart!

I don't think so, at all. He was on the hot seat a few years ago, before AJ Green/Dalton got there and after finishing like 4-12, they gave him a contract extension. Truth is, no coach with a proven track record will want to work for Mike Brown, he's just way to cheap. Just an example, is they had the smallest scouting department in the league before Lewis got there, so all the position coaches he didn't retain, he convinced Brown to keep them on as scouts. As long as Cincy is competitive, Marvin Lewis has a job for life.

I'll go one further. I think he is gone if the do make the playoffs, but are one and done again. Twelve seasons is plenty of time for a coach to earn at least one playoff win.

If Washington beats the Eagles and we beat the Colts, I wouldn't be suprised if we didn't play Romo and others week 17. If the Packers beat the Bucs (they will) and the Lions beat the Bears (they will too), then the winner of their game is the #1 or #2 seed, no worse. And assuming the Seahawks beat the Cards our only hope for a bye is a week 17 loss by the Cards and Seahawks.

Likely will be better to rest week 17.

I'll be surprised if Gus Bradley is gone.

I'd be shocked, talent wise, they just aren't there. No WRs to speak of, an over rated TE in Mercedes Lewis, averege at best RBs in Geahart and Robinson and only an ok o-line. They have some taleny on defense, but Bradley or anyone would need a good 4 years (from his first year) to crack 8-8 imo

Why does nobody else think Chip Kelly is losing his team and will be fired if the Eagles don't make the playoffs? 33-10 win to 38-27 loss in less than 3 weeks. That is 34 point swing. 34 points after establishing clear superiority. I can't recall this kind of slide happening before in the NFL.

Lurie doesn't strike me as an owner that is prone to over react. Plus I don't think they did establish clear superiority. I think they won a football game on Thanksgiving. It was a single game. It wasn't the be all end all.
