Has anyone watched this show? It just started up a little over a week ago (they've aired 2 episodes). It's a pretty good (for lack of a better word) show. Frustrating to watch, but I watch in hopes that these people will come to their senses.


Not surprising, the young people are the least racist of all of them (black boy and white girl).

The two men are morons. Brian is overly paranoid and Bruno is overly naive.


Carmen is just an airhead and Renee is too sensitive and not understanding.

I'm hoping they'll learn something from it all by the end of the season.


Anyway, those of you that haven't watched it, I recommend it. You can download the first two episodes so you are caught up.

Ive been menaing to watch this but I forgot to set the TiVo.

They did have ep 1 available from free on MSN last night but I can't find it now.

Brian is not paranoid. In fact, given his background, he is quite subdued in his interactions and observations (so far). Bruno is not naive. Too often, he intentionally and consciously pushes the envelope to be oblivious of what's coming out of his mouth. Of all the members in both families, I'm praying that he 'gets it' (e.g. the purpose of the show) by series' end.

I agree with the majority of your takes but I would say that I think both fathers are really stubborn and I think naive may fit Bruno but there is more to it with him for some reason.
Just when you think he is getting it a tad he goes and does something a little silly IMO.

I think the Girl is the best out of ALL the people on the show, she seems to be the only one who is trying hard, getting it and actually cares.
Odd thing is she, IMO, is actually prettier in her makeup.

Sorry, but Brian is paranoid. I'm not saying everything he "Feels" is false, but some of it is.


Brian and Bruno are the same, but opposites (if that makes any sense).


Like when Bruno and Brian were walking down the street, and the girls moved to the side. Brian was like, "Did you see that? How they moved?". Well, there was no room for them on the sidewalk, she HAD to move.

Paranoid. Maybe that's not the right word, but it sure as hell isn't far off.


Of course not everything is a misconception on his part, some of it is real racism.

Sometimes people you deal with are just a-holes, and race has nothing to do with it.


Bruno is naive, but I also think he's in denial. He keeps going back and forth from "I know racism is out there" to "I think you're just making somehting out of nothing". He can't seem to find the middle ground. Same thing with Brian, only he's not going back and forth.

Both of them need to open their eyes. And Bruno needs to stop with the "N" word before Brian kicks his butt.


And about the girl, I'd do her with or without her makeup. :D


And by now, she is legal so ... yeah.
 
The white mom is a moron, saying stuff like "beautiful black creatures" and trying to wear that native african garment to church and all that. But i think the show is kind of tarnished because the adults aren't really going about it wiht an open mind, like the children are.
