JJ is saving our money for next year...When all the teams blow their wad of cash this year and next years crop (Of better FA's) shows up...We'll be sitting pretty.

This years FA crop is like having the 1st overall draft pick the year we took Russel Maryland. I think we wanted Rocket that year but he went to the CFL or something.

Re-sign OUR young talent that have contracts expiring (Witten, Roy, T-New...etc) this year. Throw some LBTE incentives around this year that are not really likely to be earned...Ironic, isnt it...

Then next year we can clean up.

This is not fantasy football. Dallas made the mistake last year of paying big money to aging players. They don't want to pay even bigger money to young over-hyped players or has-beens just because they have cap space.

They will sign several role-players soon enough maybe including Ayodele. Add Coleman, Sowell, and maybe Fabini or Ashworth and you have some depth and leadership without dumping more cash onto the cap hogs our secondary and OL have been (more like a money-pit for the OL).

The draft will get us at least 1 premier LB, 1 premier OL, and a young WR prospect. As for kicker, don't forget that a guy like Todd Peterson, while not a Viniateri, is still a pro-kicker who can get it done unlike anyone we had last year.

The year before they made mistakes by letting the likes of Berry go by and instead saving a few $$$ by signing Wiley (perhaps the worst signing in team history). They also made the mistake that year of sitting on their hands and coming into the season without adding enough to the roster.

Last year, I agree, they paid big bucks to a few guys who they shouldn't have...and they didn't sign a kicker...or RT...

This kinda stuff speaks to why, I think, many people don't have a high level of confidence in our free agency strategy.
