Old man Witten needs to know his role on the team and that’s a backup that can help in certain situation. He needs stop hogging up reps from Jarwin and Schultz that can run block just as good the old man but can provide huge upside in the passing game.

that's a pretty sad statement if Jarwin is our #1 TE, it speaks more to the state of our TE situation than anything else. Jarwin is nothing but a back up material, 2nd TE and we are clamouring for him to be starting TE...

He had one bonehead play on that 3rd and long. All he had to do was catch, turn, and fall forward. The bonehead caught it, and turned and hesitated. That's just inexperienced.
Hesitated? it looked to me like he just didn't know what to do. he turned around and just stood there waiting to be tackled like a dummy. perfect example of brain fartistry.

3 catches for 17 and you want to promote him to #1.

Not on one game.

Jason has been targeted twice as many times and played about twice the number of snaps as Blake. Jason has 42 catches for 376 yds (9/rec) and 2 touchdowns...Blake has 20 catches for 252 yds (12.6/rec) and 3 touchdowns. How fast will Blake develop standing on the sidelines watching? Based on rating and stats...the drop is minimal and I don't think anyone thinks Witten can be the long-term answer. Blake at least has a chance. Face it...this team is not going to the SB this season, start the transition and see if Jarwin can cut it.

He has same amount of yards and TDs as Witten with less targets. All he needs is more reps.
Sad to say but Witten is a progress stopper.

They have both had a 1 catch 4 target game this year. jarwins came vs jets. I'm all for Jarwin getting opportunities and he did in this game, both targeted 4 times. What sucks is how they use the TE position to begin with. I like Jarwin going downfield more than these shollow routes they called yesterday.

Witten had a horrendous game yesterday. One of the worst I've seen him play in the passing game at a professional level.
Yes, he did. But it was one game and a lot of people had poor games yesterday. I say this not to suggest Jarwin isn't worthy of a bigger role, but simply to say this isn't a game where it makes sense to suggest what happened is the norm.

I like jarwin. he just needs more touches. catches well. runs well.

I think the game plan was to go conservative all the way around because of the weather, which, in general, I understood. The Pats had the same idea. My problem is that we were behind, so at some point we needed to open it up a little more. The trailing team can't afford to stay as conservative as the leading team.

I dont care that Witten is on the team. I care that the idiot coaches dont know when to take him out of the game at critical situations.

It's apparently time to draft a TE in the 2nd round again.
