absolutely

Does Jerry Jones still like what he sees?

3-5 and going to be 3-6 next week...

Can I expand this to Stephen Jones?

Despite not having anywhere to run against the Giants, Stephen Jones pretty much threw Felix Jones under the bus in the media and tried to walk it back the next day. Then, Jason Garrett inexplicably mentioned Felix's neck stinger when its not even listed on the injury report. I guess Garrett was trying to hide behind Felix being banged up some (poor coaching/play calling). You have to be kidding me. Why are you painting a target on your running back? Unbelievable.

I hope Jerry and Stephen Jones saw Felix Jones' 9-39 (4.3 YPC) against Atlanta. Also, I hope they saw and enjoyed Lance Dunbar's 8-26 and (3.2 YPC). Felix Jones touched the football 14 times in this game and had 109 total yards. Felix looked good in this game, and he could have touched the football more. Felix wants the football; he's playing. Dallas was in the process of establishing the running game, but the Cowboys chose to abandon what they started and chose to pass (incomplete) pass (sack)..punt...The Falcons were very suspect in run defense, but the Falcons were the team who rushed it 26 times to Dallas' 18. Atlanta won.

I think it is highly inappropriate for Stephen Jones to be talking about Felix Jones' health or "performance" in the media, especially when Jones is busting his rear-end on the football field and giving it his best. Furthermore, I'm dumb founded by Garrett's press conference reference, too. Coaches don't and shouldn't offer any "extra" information about a player's health.

That's o.k. Felix Jones will escape the very poorly coached, under-achieving Cowboys next year. Maybe, he can go play with Andrew Luck or Aaron Rodgers next year. Maybe, Jones' next interior offensive line will not be bought at the Dollar General Store, too. That isn't where you buy interior offensive linemen if you want to run the football and keep your QB clean. Importantly, maybe Felix will join an organization that will fully respect and appreciate his talents and abilities. Reggie Bush seems to be doing just fine, and he's not as good of an inside runner as Felix Jones.

The Colts are 5-3, and they don't have the overall talent that the Cowboys have. However, they do have a stud at QB. Jeff Fisher is 3-5, and his team doesn't have the overall talent that the Cowboys have. Sam Bradford lacks weapons on offense, and the Rams can't match Dallas' money at CB.

The chance to hire Jeff Fisher was blown.

True & True.

I used to give Jerruh a pass for being a good owner. No more. I can hardly stand looking at him anymore. Watching him in the Bob Costas interview last night was hard to stomach. He really makes politicians look somewhat sincere and credible by comparison.

Jerruh will go to his grave with lots of $$$ but a legacy of mediocrity for success on the field. His ego wont allow him to get what he really wants. Its truly shameful because he has all the resources to get it. He could be lauded as a great owner, and adored by legions of Cowboys fans, if he would simply get out of the way.

Strong words with I agree with 100%.

If Jerry was focused on winning rather than making a quick buck like most teams, this team can be great. But winning doesn't seem to resonate as top priority with Jerry.

I'd have to go the Jerry route. What are Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett going to do; say "no" to being the head coach of the Cowboys????

After having Jimmy hog all of his "glory", he has been pretty consistent in hiring guys who really have been in over their heads at the Head Coaching position so that he can be the head of the Dallas Cowboys. He only hired Parcells after the fanbase really got toxic on him from the Campo years.

Dan Reeves was asked to punch a clock. Dan Reeves. This team has been horribly undisciplined since Parcells left town, but the one guy that came through the door that might have been able to put some discipline back in the players (and some accountability) was the one asked to "clock in" each day.

And fans wonder why this team is out of wack. The coach that puts this team in the Superbowl with that football moron in charge may well be one of the greatest to ever patrol the sidelines.

Best post I read today about Jerry. Kudos!

Stop supporting the Cowboys with your pocketbook until Jones stops meddling with football operations.

As long as fans and sponsors do, it enables the Jones family will keep the Cowboys in football purgatory as it has for at least the past 15 years. He fired Landry and ran out Johnson who were responsible for five Super Bowls (including the last one) to change the franchise to revolve around him. Somehow the Cowboys with a .500 record since has the world's largest fan base - larger than teams that have won championships:
  • Yankees
  • Manchester United
  • Patriots
  • Steelers
  • Packers
  • Bulls
  • Lakers

None of the teams listed above would have much of a following if they had a dry spell as long as the Cowboys had. Guess it's this soap opera of the right quarterback, coach, or scheme will fix them...it's all been a tease.

Jerry fooled me when he hired Parcells, but he still meddled enough to keep Big Bill's gig in Dallas as successful as the previous three teams. Then Jerry relapsed. I've been fooled long enough - the Boys will never emulate their original model, the Steelers, or the Patriots while Jerry is there.

Jerry may be egotistical, but this has got to be the most clueless and deluded egos. His epitaph would read:

"Man who fired Landry, lost Johnson who both won five Super Bowls, perennial contender, then over the next several decades transformed the Cowboys into one of the sick men of the NFL." How can anyone be egotistical facing a tombstone like that?

Story: Jerry says being GM has competitive advantages

Most proud sports businessmen would prefer championships and fan respect over making money and worshiped almost like Kim Jong-un.

Jones hired Parcells when he realized fan support was fading and nobody was interested in building Cowboys stadium unless they got better. If sponsors leave, game sell-outs stop, articles indicate a loss of the following, the fans make it known they will sit out until there is a strong GM and coach not beholden to the Jones, things might happen for the better. Just follow the Rangers, Mavericks, anyone until real change happens. Closing some locker room doors on Jones for good measure.

While it's very hard to accomplish, it happened to the Steelers. After forty years of losing, the Rooney's let Noll run things in 1969 and the rest is history.
