***Blame the defense thread****

Ware killed us tonight. Simply killed us. Very undisciplined. Did not set the edge. Took off up the field (as if Griffin was taking a 7 step drop)....chased ghosts down the LOS.....he looked like a pop warner player tonight

Rob is a fraud. Even with the injuries you can't give up that much on the ground

We got beat by a team with a hobbled rookie qb running the same 3 plays all night. Give Ryan an extension!

I said after the debacle in NY last season we should've traded Ware. He's damaged goods now

A high draft pick this past year doesnt look so bad now does it? But noo. 'He's the heart of the team, the only pass rusher we got.' Ware is lucky the only chump who chokes more than him in the league plays on the same team at a more important position, otherwise his arse would get chewed out by the media.

The defense shouldn't get a pass. That's for sure. Man, that was an ugly end to the season. I know they were beat up, but that was pretty awful.

I thought the defense played well enough considering the circumstances. The offense and in particular Garrett and Romo really crapped the bed.

I'm not giving the defense a pass, but they're banged up, no depth and we can't expect to win with third stringers.

Ware is a great pass rusher but not an elite all around football player. He never was a leader and as good as his stats are he was never a guy who raised his level in crunch time. The defensive line needs new blood. Hatcher is inconsistent and Spears is absolute garbage I don't know how he's on the team. We have no true nose tackle.

Can we expect our starting OLB to not lose containment, biting on the SAME PLAY 4 times?

Can we expect our starting Safety to hold containment on the edge, and play through the whistle instead of turning around to point fingers before the play is over?

Can we expect ANYBODY to make a tackle in the open field?

These aren't 2nd-3rd string deficiencies, these guys just dont know how to play football

While they have had major injury issues, Rob Ryan just does not impress me. I thought his strength was designing blitzes. I thought that was why we upgraded the secondary so he could send the heat. We rarely blitz and when we do, we never seem to get anyone coming free to the QB. I personally am ready for a good 4 - 3 defensive coordinator. I have grown really tired of the 3 - 4 if we are not going to blitz.

I can't blame the defense. What are they supposed to do, hold the Commanders to 0 points, especially with most of their critical players out or injured? They gave Romo the ball with 3 minutes on the clock and an opportunity to win the game.

D was undisciplined all night(sound familiar?) Ware had his worst game I have ever seen him play.

I actually think the defense did a good job considering how badly injured we are.

A mediocre offensive performance or any adjustments at all on the offensive side of the ball would have probably been enough tonight.

This is why I hate the over-simplification of the game by a lot of fans.

The offense and defense still play together. It's harder for an offense to find and sustain rhythm when the defense can't get stops. It's hard to not get a little too risky when you don't trust the D to get a stop...It's all part of it.

Why couldn't we score 22 points? 21 is not that much to give up with an injured defense. Having said that, Ryan has no clue how to defend against the option.

i agree with this. the last several weeks have been some of the worst defense i have ever witnessed. even with the injuries, it was inexcusable.

i am amazed that some are singing ryan's praises.
