Bingo! The fact he was drafted isn't really the problem. The recent enormous contract for sub-par performance is the issue. Deer in the headlights anyone?

Right....you cant forget chaos theory....just to soothe the dak hurt. Not drafting some crappier QBs in earlier rounds isn’t some solace for drafting fool’s gold who’s provided nothing. Had we drafted the former, we would’ve still had Romo for a little while longer and/or a possibility to draft the number of better pro-bowl and SB winning or competing for QBs who came after.
Thats fine...but two things...Excellent 4th round pick.
When? Lynch was so bad the Broncos gave up on him after two years but that was the BRONCOS. Tell me if you truly believe Jerry would have done the same, admitted failure of a 1st round QB he selected within two years. Hell no.......at best Jerry would have kept him 4 years w/o 5th year option.Had they drafted Lynch or Connors they would of become so bad it's possible they end up with a first round pick like Burrows
Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Herbert, Love.
How is that? Tony Romo was done health wise........his preseason injury proved how weak his back was, and his body was done. Tony and the league knew it. It's why no team was willing to offer a draft pick in a trade for him, not even a 7th rounder. Texan and Broncos were the only two teams mildly interested, Elway admitted interest once he's released but no draft pick. The lack of interest and injuries taking a toll made his decision to retire an easy one.Had we drafted the former, we would’ve still had Romo for a little while longer and/or a possibility to draft the number of better pro-bowl and SB winning or competing for QBs who came after.
Exactly this is why Dak is literally the worst thing to happen to this franchise in the last decade. We would have been 100 times better off with a QB who flamed out quickly, because then we could move on to the next one. But Instead we get Dak who's just good enough for Jerry to keep extending him, but not good enough to win anything. That's how you waste an entire decade, all for what - nothing.But.....we might have hit near rock bottom without Dak 2017-2021
Had chance at Josh Allen, Burrows, MaHomes
That’s what it took to get Aikman....a 1-11 season
Those type of seasons easy to forget when SB rings show up
Both are from NJ lol. Both went to Princeton. He just has to be one of Woodrow Wilson's descendents.....has to be
True, but Dak was "lucky" the Cowboys put him on a ready-made team...no way he has success without that stacked team. We know that now.Cowboys were lucky to find Dak. You negative Nancie’s can pretend like Connor Cook or Paxton Lynch would’ve been as good. But we know most of you guys are delusional and butt hurt over how Romo retired.
Wow, didn't see that coming ,lolBoth are from NJ lol. Both went to Princeton.
I don’t think the team was stacked. They won 4 games prior and yeah I get with no Romo but a stacked team should be winning with Casell and Weeden no? With Garrett as coach too? I don’t know. It was much better to come to Dallas then Cleveland but I can’t say they were stacked.True, but Dak was "lucky" the Cowboys put him on a ready-made team...no way he has success without that stacked team. He wasn’t done health wise. He suffered a freak injury and returned with a clean bill of health from the doctors. How is that? This simply isn't true........... clean bill of health for normal life but for the NFL, not so much. Even Romo lost confidence in his back, especially for a full season. He wasn’t done health wise. He suffered a freak injury and returned with a clean bill of health from the doctors.
Teams were interested him in so far as they didn’t want to give up any draft capital for him because they knew they didn’t have to due the Cowboys overvaluing Dak’s abilities and making him the future starter. Tony would either be released or want to play for a contender, and the latter wasn’t going to happen so he chose broadcasting because of the pay and family.
You missed the point. Dak was a heck of a good 4th round pick, and better than other options the Cowboys had at QB in that draft. That doesn't mean he should have been clung to as a starter all these years, or been given massive contracts, but that's an entirely different issue than the level of player relative to draft positionYou’re right…we would have never made those SB runs that Dak provided.
Umm…being unsure of taking another hit which can cause any injury including another one to the back doesn’t deny that he was cleared as fully healed and with a clean bill of health from the doctors ready to play. This simply isn't true........... clean bill of health for normal life but for the NFL, not so much. I will say it again. Dak get credit for playing well enough to let romo fully heal....rather than come back in and play hurt....which he did a lot, which gets you more hurt. How is that?
