Why and how did all the other teams pass on DaRon? Don't know these answers but sure glad that they in fact did. Mr. Bland is an up and comer who the NFL is just getting to know.

3 years at a FCS school. 1 year at fresno state. 0 star recruit out of High school. Basically overlooked from scouts in the CFB and NFL.

When I was growing up that was called being a role model. Something a lot of posters on site have no real clue about the value shown.
Lol, you just can't help yourself, can you? You take a good thread like this and STILL have to call out the other side. Who's the hater now? lulz...

This is great. There are a lot of players who really go above and beyond. Use their platform and do something good with it. A steal on and off the field.

Although they have scouts all over the country, you can't assume all the other teams had an eye on Bland. Despite the Cowboys having a bead on him - they didn't select Bland until day three of the draft.
The general rating of players in the draft process is not only on their athletic ability, skills required of their position(s), actual play on the field, character, etc., but taken also into account is the quality of competition one faced in college.
Dallas liked what they saw in their evaluation of him - and yet surmised that throughout the draft process that Bland would still be on the board in the 5th round. He was - and became their pick.

Spend another 2nd on a wasted pick in KJ, but grab Bland in the 5th that was better than KJ could ever be.
