Bledsoe and Parcells offense

Really a good post IMO. It is not the limitations of Bledsoe that is killing us at this point. It is the inability to avoid the costly TO or sack. Field position is killing us. The fact that we are 4th in scoring defense is even more impressive if you consider the offensive propensity to give up field position thus far.

Many think that the limitations of Bledsoe play a significant role in many of those costly turnovers and sacks.

The "proven player" is 8-7 in his last 15 starts, has proven to hold the ball too long and be slow to make decisions. He has also struggled anytime there is pressure, and although that isn't all his fault, handling pressure and making smart decisions is supposed to be the strong suit of a veteran.

In this case "proven player" doesn't seem to be such a positive thing.

Yes I did expect big things from this offense....and they might still happen, but realistically I knew that Parcells is always going to be a 'ball control/smash mouth football' type of coach and the wide open passing game is just a pipe dream.

Also about the superbowl in 2007, I meant for this season because early next year is when the big game is played.

Yes 8-7 isn't exactly stellar but both of you need to realize that we are only 5 games into the season.......Bledsoe can very easily get hot and we are very capable of rolling off 8 straight wins with the talent we have.

when i see Bledsoe trot out there, i see a mediocre vet QB taking the field, thats its nothing special, he virtually has NO UPSIDE or potential, he is what he is, just an average old vet QB, that we will be lucky to go 9-7 with. furthermore any team that can pressure us up the middle will wreak havoc to our offense, and Bledsoe will be Bledsoe and start throwing INT's and taking costly sacks.

That is possible, but what is "proven" and what is "possible" aren't the same thing.

You were arguing about Bledsoe being "proven", now you are changing to what is "possible".

I don't necessarily disagree with you about making a change now, that may be too quick, but I don't think the "proven QB" argument is as strong as you think.

And I think Bledsoe's leash is getting shorter - his hold on the job depends on preforming well and consistently ..... the "proven player" standard wont go as far as it once may have.
