After watching todays games, it got me thinking, are brunell and bledsoe more alike than we would like to admit?

Both of these quarterbacks seem bipolar. One week, they can look like probowlers, the next, they look like what they are; washed up vets.

I seriously believe that these quarterbacks can do nothing for us but get us to .500. I cant see either of these quarterbacks leading a team to the playoffs. It just wont happen.

I think for you, the future might be in romo, and for us, the future is in Campbell. This is just the reality of the situation.

Both teams are held hostage by their quarterbacks.

Some common issues, the biggest being that neither of them can really carry a team at this point in their career.

MB needs a running game to carry the load and give him a rythem for his game. He doesnt have the arm left to carry the offense, even for a short while.

DB needs a clean pocket or he makes negative plays. Drew has the arm but lacks any sense of pocket presence.

That said, I would be ok with DB throwing the ball 35 times a game as long as he has a clean pocket. MB could get you 35 dump offs but thats not going to work well.

Our teams are in almost identical problems, except your defense is light years ahead of ours.

But both QBs are really flaky. For every good play, they put out about 5 bad ones.

yes both players are holding their teams back and both should be benched in favor of the younger talented QB's

Other than the fact they are both old and struggling, they couldn't really be any more different than they are.

With Brunell, it's more a condition of age kicking in. He was a primo QB when he had the legs to roll out and confuse defenders, and he could throw accurately on the move like few others. He was a fast thinker who always forced DCs to specifically game plan for the threat he presented, and never was known as anything less than a crafty field general.

His legs are gone now and his arm hasn't got the zip to rifle them over the middle before defenders close in on his receivers. But he still has the calmness and coolness to have broken and NFL consecutive completion record just a few week ago.

Yeah, he needs Portis...but his deterioration is normal physical wear and tear. He has obviously worked hard to adapt his declining skills to a stationary short passing game

Bledsoe's game, on the other hand, has been his strong arm, and that has NOT notably deteriorated. The problems that plague him now are the same ones that always have. And to my mind, his years of experience have not led to a more cerebral game, and certainly he has always been a sitting duck behind center. It isn't decline as much with Bledsoe, as he is what he is.

The real point of comparison is we have two old coaches on their last go-rounds who aren't willing to 'sacrifice' a season to develop a young QB while playing him. Both Bill and Joe prefer to go with their flawed, but "experienced" quarterback, and sadly, I don't think either is willing to admit what they've got isn't enough.

I wouldn't say that until Springs comes back
But Williams can't put all of the defense on one player. That is what we are seeing.

We also have two strong safeties, so our coverage sucks. AA sucks balls. And Carlos Rogers is our best CB lol, that really isn't saying much.

With Bledsoe you get the stupid turnovers, but at least he'll take a shot downfield once in a while. Brunell is conservative to a fault, he won't throw a pick, but his big plays are few and far between. In either case, it's no way to win a championship.

Well I don't think ours was very good tonight. Too many blown coverages/big plays.

I agree, but if you look at Skins game film, you can see we have gotten burned deep by every team we have playing INCLUDING the Texans. We have some serious problems.

It seems like you guys have just started have secondary problems.

I don't think much of either but would still take Bledsoe. I still find it strange with the money the Skins spent he is still starting there.
