Bleu's Post Game Nuggets

His ego is to big he won't hire an OC. What is frustrating is he preaches situational football but he didn't follow it? And its not the first time he has followed through with it. I am not sure they are on the cusp of much right now if RR leaves. Bottom line this team is in contention because of an easy schedule. But anyways Good Job!

I really believe JG may be in a little over his head right now. Without RR running the defensive side of the ball this year, we're probably trailing the Gnats in the standings right now. That said, JG is still coming into his own as a HC. He is going to make mistakes. The million dollar question? Is Jerry patient enough to truly create some continuity at VR. Don't get me wrong here. I'm just as pissed as the next fan. I was fit to be tied yesterday at what appeared to have been a HC showing his inexperience in making critical decisions in the heat of the moment. A day later, and having regained my breath, I can tuck that one away and refocus on the Gnats. I hope JG and the team are all doing the exact same thing. You have to have a short memory in this league. Just ask Alan Ball... I think he's completely out of brain cells. The true measuring stick for this team will come Sunday night. If we beat the Gnats, you can toss all of that strength of schedule mess right out the window. We do have a chance.

I guess my question would to what extent are his youthful mistakes acceptable? I mean, I havent seen one person describes yesterday's events as anything other than a once in a lifetime gaff. I've certainly never seen a coach do anything like that before.

It just makes me question him as a coach because it was such an indefensible error, even those who are supporting him with everything they have admit it was a dubious set of calls. It seems like a basic thing every JV player in high school should understand.

One more thing... About RR... Yes, his defense was a sieve in overtime. However, You still have to look at the fact that they held AZ to 13 prior to the OT debacle. An even bigger question should be why our high powered offense could only manage to score 13 against the freaking Cardinals.

Today, Jason will not hire an OC. Who knows at seasons end, he might feel the hotseat, see the black crows circling above, whatever it may be. If this offense continues to score 13 pts a game from here on out, he will have no choice but to seek outside help for the OC position (if he wants to have a longer coaching career in dallas).

I just hope he can overcome his stubborness/arrogance to hire one if the O keeps sputtering along. The question is....do we have 2-3 more years for him to learn on-the-job training? Romo and Witten are not getting younger and I really want those guys to get a ring, they deserve it!

It was a monumental mistake. Everyone witnessed it. The true measure of a person is not what happens when things are peachy keen. It's how that person approaches the fire when it's burning beneath the posterior. ;) Jason embarassed himself and the team on national TV. That doesn't mean he lost any respect of his players. It just means he had better spend a little more time burning the midnight oil preparing himself and his team for battle. Now.. Let that become a trend and things will go downhill quickly. I think JG is smart enough to learn from this monumental gaffe.

Even if he hired an OC he will still call the plays. Don't you have to have a feel for play calling and an understanding on getting your players into a rhythm?? We are not seeing that and we haven't seen it much we saw it in 07 and the end of 09 we also saw it when Romo went down and Kitna took over.

In regards to my post, it goes w/o saying that the new OC have full control over the plays. It won't do any good if Jason continues to call them.

I agree, he has no feel for the game. He may write-up a nice pre-game strategy, but he does not adjust accordingly. Again, he is stubborn, hes determined that his way is the only way.

I think you're both onto something here. As a coordinator, you have to have a feel for the ebb & flow of the game and adjust to it accordingly while shrapnel is flying every which way. Perhaps JG does create a helluva game plan but he may still have deficiencies in actually executing said game plan and making the hugely important adjustments during the game..

I would say that's probably where the problem lies. Also he really needs to work on his situational management.

I like your thinking, bro. And it's nice to see a pretty/ugly face of yours. :D

But, the Giants are going to come to Dallas and smoke the Cowboys!

Yeah, the team is young, the coach is new, the DC is new...but the Giants are proven.

Sorry my citizen friend....but the Cowboys lose this game.

:eek::

Nicely done Bleu, enjoyed your commentary and I agree with it.
