Please help me understand if I saw what I thought I saw. Wasn't that a block in the back on Frazier on that first Commanders TD? I've watched that play over and over now and by my understanding it was a clear block in the back on Frazier coming up to make a tackle.
Now I'm not asking this because I want to point out how bad the officials can be against this team, I just want to make sure I understand the dang rules.

What you saw might be right.. but that wont change the fact that this TEAM is and has been poorly coached by the clapper

Absolutely, I think there were actually 2 of them.

I saw the same thing but they did not call it. It's only illegal if you get caught.

This is not a thread about the coaching staff......oh wait, every thread is about the coaching staff according to some.

I saw that, and was amazed at the talking head with Romo suckling on the Commander teat as they showed it in a replay and said not one thing about it. Now there may be a rule that allows those kinds of blocks within a certain amount of space from the line of scrimmage.

But clearly the offensive lineman - who the talking head praised for his heads up block - pushed a linebacker to the ground with two hands on his back.

And not one yellow flag at all.

That play is always never called for some reason. I still remember the Pittsburgh game when Leveon got a big play on a block like that against Sean Lee I believe and it didn't get called. Something about that screen play that the refs don't call that block.

I was surprised when CBS did the replay with graphics showing how "perfect" the Skins blocked that up, that Romo ignored the illegal block.

Then again... no I wasn't surprised that the former DAL QB decided it would not be well-received for him in this newer career to call-out a gross oversight by refs standing right there.

(EDIT: TwoDeep, you said it before I could.)

Thank you TwoDeep. Yes I was actually shocked when I too heard Romo compliment it!! I was like "what the hell??" That looked like a clear block in the back to me!
Also, I don't know of any rules to allow for two hands to the back during blocking that's why I was so surprised.
Again I'm not posting this to rip on the refs, as they do unfairly target this team some times, so that's not even up for debate.

It's been called on Tyron fairly recently, I know that, and I'm pretty sure it was for a big gainer or I might not have noticed like I did.

Wish Jaylon would have taken a better angle to prevent that TD.

I stay away from the refs hate the cowboys rants. But that was a blown call. Just like that phantom call at the end to move the team back five yards from the line of scrimmage. The Commanders jumped off-sides and made contact and the refs blew that call.

I have seen that same block not called many times. However, twice this year Dallas was called for a block in the back for doing exactly the same thing! One negated a TD on a screen to Zeke. It might have been the Panthers game. There was another that also negated a crucial first down or a big play. I don't have the tapes or I would go back and pick the plays out. It could be different crews call it or not but for Dallas to get called 2 times and then have it not called when it happened to them is particularly frustrating.

The thing is, that Cowboys player who was blocked was in position to make the play for no gain.

Right on the money here creeper! Yes, I think it was in the Panthers game. Dallas got called for a block in the back and what is so frustrating was that when dallas got called for it, it wasn't even as bad as what I saw yesterday!!! That's why I was so shocked it wasn't called!!
Hell I've seen much less than what happen yesterday get called on the cowboys!

..the bonehead refs whiffed it. It was just bad luck for us..

Bizarrely, you are right. You see it a lot on screens, where OL shove defenders in the back and it often goes uncalled.

They've called it twice on the Cowboys this year, if I'm not mistaken.

I just went back and watched the play and I'm not upset by the non call. Running the play in slow motion there can be something of a case made for a block in the back, but ultimately both players were diving, and I couldn't make any determination on it without slow motion. At the time the lineman left his feet he wasn't even behind Frazier, but Frazier was just moving faster and ended up a little ahead of the lineman diving for the block.
