A certain reporter has been listed as "doubtful" for the afternoon practice after taking a hit from 250-pound inside linebacker Akin Ayodele.

Even the reporter's cat-like quickness couldn't avoid the oncoming Ayodele, who was in hot pursuit of running back Julius Jones.

Jones entertained nearby children by shouting several expletives as he ran out of bounds.

The good news is the reporter never fumbled his Starbucks "houseblend" and continued taking copious notes.

We'll have more as this story continues to develop.

Bill the Terrible shows up!

Someone woke up on the wrong side of his Residence Inn bed this morning
.
Bill Parcells spent the first portion of practice having a one-sided conversation with trainer Britt Brown. A few minutes later, he ripped into strength and conditioning coach Joe Juraszek for taking too long with the stretching.

Later in practice, he ripped into veteran offensive tackle Jason Fabini after the offense allowed four sacks on the first six plays of team drills. Fabini appeared to make the mistake of responding to Parcells.

At the end of practice, Bill ripped into his team.

Later, he had some unpleasant words for assistant secondary coach Mike MacIntyre and then backup quarterback Tony Romo made the mistake of walking by. Yes, it was a sloppy morning practice, but I'm thinking Parcells was going to be like this no matter what happened.

Who will be next?

We'll see in about 10 minutes, when his daily news conference begins.

And he's miserable when he's not coaching football.

A guy told me recently that Bob Knight was probably the most tormented and unhappy person he had ever seen.

His buddy, Parcells, is much the same way, I think.

This kind of reminds me of basic training. Some morning the Drill Sgts would be mad at everything and anything. You knew they planned it ahead of time. Low and behold, you would come back from lunch and all of your possessions from your room would be in a big pile in the hallways even though your room looked just as good as it did the day before. Parcells is just trying to keep them on their toes.

Bright side: in a real game it would have only been three sacks as we would have punted....:lmao:

And who says he isn't mean to Romo?

This may be proof that Parcells hates Romo.

Yes, I am certain of it.

Romo will never get a chance to play as long as Coach Parcells is here.

Well, Parcells is doing a great job this year of separating his feelings during practice from his feelings at the press conferences. I can't believe the good mood he seems to be in almost every single day. If anyone doesn't get to watch the PCs on DC.com, they should... It's amazing how much he's smiling this year. It's really nice to see.

Like DMQ said, I think a lot of this unhappiness is staged at certain times to keep the team on track.

You know what? It's actually a good sign when he's cranky. Means he's got high expectations & people aren't living up to them. It's when he gets really passive & unemotional that it's time to start worrying. That's when you know a player isn't going to be around much longer because Parcells has given up on him. I'm taking it as a positive that he knows this team can be pretty good but they've really got to step it up.

Excellent point.

Does anyone remember the press conferences from late in 2004? He was completely defeated and he never got into it with the press. He was like a tired old horse that had been beaten and was hapless. If he has fire, he is enjoying himself and he cares.

If he is morose, sullen and quiet, then it's not good.

Most definitely. Myself being such an emotional person and knowing how volatile BP can be ... this is fascinating to me how is handling all this.

I think someone told him that Romo was not Italian. :p:

:laugh2:

Did that question ever get answered?

Maybe that's something someone should ask Parcells at the next news conference.

Heck, he talked about McQuistan's ancestry.

"Hey coach, so what is Romo, anyway? Any idea?"
