Blogging the Boys - 5 WRs Dallas Cowboys should consider trading for post-draft

so this year, the DL is worse. the LBs are worse. the safties were non-existent and got worse as they are older. Cbs are coming off injuries and may not start the season and the guy we drafted is going to be on PUP list to start the season.

we threw numbers at the RB position hoping to hit on one. seemingly no answer.
stephen thinks one of the 5 other WRs can be a #2...he is not confident in who, just hoping one of them does.
the QB is coming off a major injury. is a year older.
whole new defensive scheme.
new head coach.

giants have improved and closed the gap.

looks like another 6-7 win season at best.
How the heck is the Dline worse this year? Kneeland into his 2nd year, Fowler back, Micah, Dono EZ, Turner, and two rook DT’s. Way better than if Micah doesn’t make the sack no one will. Dlaw was out most of the season.

This season we’re just swapping injured corners. Bland is healthy and Diggs is not. Carson is back though and Revel will be back soon.

The RB room is far better off than Dowdle and Zeke.

WR is the struggle. Have to try and get one. It’s paramount.

Don't forget they brought back Rogers that big dude Justin Rogers so they brought him back in right after the season and they still have Joseph. So yeah we added some big dudes in the draft but we also have big dude Justin Rogers to go along with the guys you just talked about they'll get into a camp battle there's some beef in there...

Butler will also be back at soem point but they added Elam and are still carrying Pride who looked pretty solid in limited snaps last year as well as booth but well he wasnt great but its body LOL

We need to save all the picks we can for next year. Phenoms Jeremiah Smith with THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY and acrobatic Ryan Williams with THE CRIMSON TIDE could enter the draft early. Pair either with Lamb? Talk about dynamic duo.
for decades.

we ll be so excited we wont know what else to cheer about.

what is is paramount to? 1 more win? so what? 6 wins maybe? No one cares, no one is in the league is taking us serious. There isnt one DC on our schedule going, "you know if Dallas gets that extra WR, watch out"

WE STILL DONT KNOW IF OUR COACHES KNOW THEIR JOBS.

lets take things in steps. no one is getting excited that Dallas is filling spots. Thats all we ve done, we have a check list, we put a body in the spot, check. Job done, move on.

No one is getting excited over nothing, thats what we are. 30 years of nothing. You getting excited over that? No you arent.

Tyreek: Too expensive (but would be nice)
Pickens: in year 4 of rookie contract; unrealized potential so far
Sutton: Expensive for a WR2 IMO
Johnson: Affordable, but WR2?
Pierce: Affordable; good option

Mazi sucks. the kid from UCLA is a rookie 6th rounder. we lost Lawrence and Kneeland is coming off injury. only second year player. Osa is the best player on DL, as I am not sure what he is a DE or LB. Fowler is just a rotational player. Williams has been very underwhelming for a 2nd round pick.

and who are the LBs again? yeah we traded for a bunch of players who are not long term answer and are fillers. Overshown is injured yet again. our safties suck. SUCK. and Diggs is still injured. Revel is going to be on PUP. and Bland is coming off injury.

we also have a new scheme.

this defense is not going to improve much. they may rank better than last year but still bottom feeders.

I’m always a wait and see approach. I liked Mike. I thought he got a raw deal with all the injuries and not bringing in anyone last offseason. But the injuries were real. I mean SF had a worse record than we did. And you obviously care a little bit or you wouldn’t be here.

It depends. If I can get Sutton or Pierce for a 4th rounder, I likely would do it (granted, I doubt you could get either for that). Both are way more proven than Mingo.
I think it's far more likely that a guy like Jerry would go for a UDFA, instead. They're much cheaper.

Alec Pierce is actually a really good suggestion. He has suffered through Indy’s piss poor QB play the past few seasons. He’s got slept on talent.

Rogers is back?

No way

They are totally stacked with edge rushers.

We don’t know that.

There are 1-2 new teams in the playoffs every year.
Depends on what your goals are. Is it contending for a title or just making the playoffs? Given the fact that the playoffs over the years have been expanded to add more teams the bar for that is lower than contending for a title. So yea, could they make their way to the playoffs? Maybe. Are they winning anything? No, that is for sure not a possibility with this team as it is currently built.

By the way I look at it every years of one off so whatever happened last year doesn't matter but what did really happen is we had 18 injuries across the board some ravaged some positions completely we used practice squad players most of the year lost year starting quarterback your best receiver was banged up et cetera et cetera and somehow we won seven games if you can win 7 games in that scenario you for sure can make a push for one of the wild card spots..

I think too many people are making predictions based off what happened last year it doesn't matter what happened last year this roster somehow last year with just about everything that can go wrong 17 games sometimes it only takes nine games at most 10 to get into the playoffs that's all you need is a shot playing your best ball going into the playoffs. I'm in no way saying we're going to be a playoff team i'm saying we're closer to that team that finished off a 36 win two division title three straight playoff run That was the meat in between the sandwich with the injury years, 2020 and again in 2024 .. So somehow, we have our quarterback who's never had a losing season if we don't have a catastrophic amount of injuries we typically make the playoffs..
Bingo..... you can have the injuries we had and think your play is going to remain the same. Its just not possible. Im just done arguing with those that just want to say we suck.

I remember what the predictions around here were before the start of 2014.... do you?

I like Sutton and Pierce but are you only getting them for a year? Dont see them paying big money for a WR when they have to pay an enormous contract to Parsons.
Sutton would be pretty big money as his market value is listed at over 26M per year. I think we know that's not going to happen.

Pierce on the other hand, his market value is peanuts. That along with why the Colts would trade him, everyone else is better, makes me wonder how good Pierce is.
