Blow this thing up!

Please name the last NFL team to "blow this whole thing up" for me.
Texan would qualify.

Shed Watson
Tanked
Got lucky with Stroud
Signed a great coach

Lots of luck involved. Jets have tried several times and failed. Lots of other teams as well.

Our chance to do it passed us by after 23.

Trade Parsons.

......because future HOFers are a dime a dozen.

It might have been some other defender running in a takeaway for a score but you can bet that 95% of the time that game-changing play was influenced directly or indirectly by what Parsons was doing.

Micah Parsons is the closest thing a defense can have to an offensive player.

Pay Parsons and he will make everyone else look better simply by being on the same field as him.

We're talking about extending parsons... we are stuck with the highest paid QB that will never ever win. Ever! In a Qb league.
We have more holes that need repairing than NY pot holes.
Blow this whole thing up and accumulate draft picks, this circus needs to come to a end.
What spectacular GM will be using these picks?

This team won't contend until it uses a premium draft pick on a QB and Jerry relinquishes power to a real GM. Can't win in this league paying TOP dollar for mediocrity at the QB position. Until then it's gonna be the same old song played again and again...

For Jerry to keep the cash faucet running, he only needs to be relevant. He doesn't need to win SBs anymore. He just needs to stay in the A segments of every sports show, and he still is.

You are right. But NO team ever has.
Sure they have.

In the NFL, blowing it up means trading away assets, releasing younger players, stuff like that.

Cowboys blew it up in the Walker trade. Giants actually blew it up back in the early 2000's, dropped a bunch of guys who couldn't stay on the field.

What are you thinking blowing it up means?

We have more holes that need repairing so let’s create another one by getting rid of Parsons….smh

“We are filled with overrated, overpaid stiffs”…….”trade them and a get massive pick package”

Hmmm
Right?

It is so weird how so many let their own over valuations of our players carry over to their thoughts about FA, thinking other teams will value them just as high.

I agree. The definition of blowing it up has changed as the league has evolved with FA. The Eagles traded the farm just to get Wentz then cut bait on him very quickly. Similar story with the Rams. Seems like the Bears blow it up every two or three years, lol.

You can't blow it up Jimmy Johnson style anymore, but you can see the writing on the wall and take a major shift in direction while understanding that you are sacrificing the short term chances of success.

I would say every team in the league is blowing it up on some level every 3-5 years just by the nature of FA.

From what I've seen its teams like the Jets and Panthers always blowing things up and starting over.... Never been a fan of the blowup strategy unless your roster is filled with a bunch of aging vets and its clear you don't have enough talent in place at other skill positions to be competitive. So knowing you have a team in decline perhaps a reset or a changing of the guard is needed. Other than Dak, I don't see a lot of aging vets here at the moment.

Ehh I can be pessimistic. But be real.

Team needs RB, WR2, RG, DE, LB, DT (likely Osa)

A solid free agency and draft they will compete for the division.

Dak was the best QB in the league two seasons ago. So he may not be Burrow, Mahomes etc. but he can be a solid QB in this league.

They are much closer to competing than they are for needing a full blow up
Jerry loves you and all fans like you.
