The implications of playing, and not playing, Tony Romo:

"To play or not to play Tony Romo. That would be Billy Shakespeare’s question were he a Cowboys fan.

Such a cut-and-dried conundrum would seem simple by nature, but of course, there’s nothing simple in Cowboyland, where owners play doctor and hopes hinge on the magic lumbar of a Cinderella-storied, beloved, and equally detested quarterback.

Offseason back surgery already had Dallas holding its collective breath with every hit on Romo, especially as wins piled up. So when Romo laid prone Monday for agonizingly too long, then logrolled, rose, and old-man walked to the X-ray room, season-ending thoughts crept through the rafters..."

All I can say is I would base any move off what doctors are telling me and Romo ability to move and to throw without any problems. If Tony is limited in what he can do then I would look to Weeden. If this is just about dealing with pain then I leave it up to Romo.

No Romo... the current offense would operate fine without skipping a beat. Murray would still get his and Weeden would distribute the ball to the receivers just fine. We saw it on Monday night.

Please stop bro.

I think Weeden threw a grand total of 6 passes on Monday. Saying the "offense would operate fine without skipping a beat" without Romo is a ridiculous generalization. He's been one of the most efficient, highest rated QB's in the league this year. He's one of the main reasons we're 1st in the division at 6-2. If Weeden could do everything Romo can do, he wouldn't be a backup in this league.

If Romo can play, he should play. If not, I have confidence we can win a game or 2 with Weeden. That's what backups are for.

Yep, you're a Romo worshiper . Overrating Romo is just what you do. I'm sorry if your guy is little more than a bus driver this season. It just hurts your brain to hear others speak the truth about him. I'm sorry.

Dude, learn an ounce of football.

Yeah, what he did to JJ Watt was the stuff of bus drivers. And to Bruce Irvin. And to New Orleans. And the highest fourth quarter QB rating in NFL history is just bus-driver stuff.

Might I suggest reality TV for you. Bravo channel.

It would first have to be truth to hurt.

A top-tier QB (yes, as listed on even nfl.com) is no where near a bus driver, nor brandon weeden.

So what! He hasn't done a damn thing this year. If stats are all that matter, it's no wonder this team has been lost in mediocrity the past few years.

You've been drink too much of Romo's bath water. This is Murray's team now, not Romo's.

Rubbish. The choice is not clear unless you're one of his Doctors. We don't have the information needed to make that decision.

Maybe I'm reading too much into things MrTXStar, but I'll make a wild guess that you don't like Romo.

...from a person that drinks Romo's bath water, lol. Your tin foil hat looks pretty good with a star on it... NOT.
Just beware the Romo worshipers are coming after you.
Romo is far from being the Cowboys only impediment to getting to the Super Bowl. The coaches failing to keep Romo's ego in check is another big flaw.
Romo is a joke. I wish we had Johnny Football. This team should have let Romo go a long time ago. He'll never get us post season wins.
I've never been a Romo fan. Other fans think because Romo once upon a time won an OT game in SF that he's just always going to do that. It's like they don't remember all his screw ups that lost games. I knew the second Romo returned to the field Monday night, we were going to lose. His ego to be the hero is out of control. We need Weeden as our starting QB until the BYE. Until that happens, we will continue to lose.
I wish I could buy what you are selling but I refuse to be fooled by Romo ever again. Man, are you going to be upset when Romo self-destructs.

Hasn't done a damn thing this year? He's quarterbacked the team to a 6-2 record and a first place spot in the division at the halfway point.

You're clearly a hater.

I guess that made Aikman a bus driver as well since Emmitt Smith was a work horse for the Cowboys as well. lol

I'm not sure how much you guys have followed the troll above, but I have serious doubts about his perspective. He's sprinkled in just enough neutral to balance some of his more outlandish haterade, but it seems that this thread bunched his panties enough for his true self to come out to play.

Can't say I'm in to Romo playing this week if he's really hurt, but you sound like an epic bozo here.
Not calling you're a bozo...just saying your comments are very bozo-like. :muttley:
