I wasn't expecting Jimmy to get offed. Nuck should have killed Horvitz not Jimmy. Of course, now I wonder if Nuck masterminded the jew killing Angie?

Finally got around to watching the last two episodes. Absolutely incredible and I am still in shock over Jimmy's death. In all honesty I expected it, but for some reason I did not expect it to be at Nucky's hands. One of the best seasons of TV ever.

I love when a show has enough balls to kill off a likeable and major character. This season was the Rise and Fall of Jimmy Darmody. People should have seen this final scenario coming from a mile away if you look at the how Jimmy was portrayed in both seasons. He betrayed the only person who really cared about him and it seems like he knew his death was bound to happen this way. Oh let's not forget he screwed his own mom, killed his own dad, got his wife murdered, and had a huge river of blood on his hands all the way through. Karma Jimmy, Karma. But ultimately his downfall was crossing Nucky, and I'm looking at you Margret and Eli. I think they are both goners next season. Can't Wait!!!

There are still so many amazing characters. Even though I will greatly miss Jimmy, the writers on this show are freaking fantastic. I expect next season will be even better than this one. Somehow...

I think my biggest issue is that they worked pretty hard to make Jimmy unappealing this year. However, in spite of that, he still had far more depth as a character than Nucky.

I think the writers realized that they were creating a far more interesting side character than the main character and had no choice but to kill him off.

I'll admit, I'm not all that interested in the adventures of Nucky, Margaret and Eli.....I don't find any of them all that interesting and quite one dimensional.

I just hope they can salvage Richard Harrow, but again, without Jimmy, that could be a challenge.

In my opinion, without continuing to develop Jimmy's character and his struggle to raise his son with his mother around, and further developing that plot line between Jimmy and his mother, the show is dead in the water.

None of the other characters are compelling enough to keep me interested. I'll give it a go for Season 3, but I can see myself quickly losing interest.

Finally finished the season on my DVR. I'm not changing my avatar. Jimmy was without a doubt my favorite character, and like some of you have said he was way more developed than Nucky.

I just don't know how long they can stick with Nucky being the main cog of the show. My theory is they're going to start to focus a lot on Luciano and Capone in the future. Will be interesting to see what happens to Harrow.

The problem I see is the show was supposed to be focused on Atlantic City, hence the name "Boardwalk Empire", or that's how they presented it. With eliminating Jimmy they have taken out a whole wing of characters who were AC centered. I don't mind if they show more of the other Chicago/NY characters but it seems to be getting away from the original idea. If the show was supposed to be about prohibition/gangsters in general why did they start out so focused on AC and name the show after it? It doesn't make sense.

I think what would have been more interesting is to show the slow movement out of the old guys and in with the new, Capone Luciano and Darmody taking over for the older bosses and the transitions, it seemed like that was what was happening for a while.

I really like this show but I think they did that with the Jimmy character just to be "shocking" and win awards, or they didn't understand their own character.

Wish I didn't click since I haven't watched the last few eps, but Knucky is one of the more interesting characters in TV. Infact I would say he is the most interesting, while they have not developed him enough when they do it is always interesting. Exceptionally strong character.

He seems to be more complex now, but only because of the last 2-3 episodes of this season. Up until then, they really didn't go deep into Nucky much at all. Jimmy seemed to be the main focus for most of Season 1 and the first 10 episodes of Season 2. They spent a lot of time on Jimmy's past... Nucky, not so much, save for the brief story about his childhood home.
