Meanwhile, Williams is the only player in the draft to be a unanimous pick as the finest player at his position.
"You've got to put him in the category of the Warren Sapps, the Cortez Kennedys, the Hall of Famers," Ed Orgeron, who was Williams' position coach in 2012 and head coach for most of '13, told the Los Angeles Times.
"He has a shot to be a dominant football player, and with continued improvement over the next couple years, he's got the potential to be an NFL Hall of Famer."
Williams' ability to play anywhere up and down the defensive line was evident in Journal Sentinel polling.
The 11 personnel men from teams using the 3-4 defense all voted Williams as the No. 1 end in that scheme.
Of the 10 scouts from teams with the 4-3 scheme, nine tabbed him No. 1 at defensive tackle and the other called him the best at defensive end.
"He's the most talented player on the defensive side of the ball," an NFC executive said. "He's an end and a 3-technique. He's quick, strong and athletic."
