"I don't wake up every day saying, 'I'd really like to go smoke,'" Gregory said. "It's not a struggle for me every day (now), it really isn't. In the past, hell yeah, it's been a struggle.

"I want people to understand I'm not some dumb jock pothead. I'm not. I'm intelligent....I don't want to be labeled as some bust that couldn't make it because he smoked. And I won't be labeled as that.

"(Marijuana) could end my career. This incident right now is a step toward ending my career. The last thing I want to do is fail another drug test and be out of the league."

Gregory claimed in the interview not to have smoked marijuana since December. According to Gregory, his THC levels were so elevated that the drug remained in his system at the combine.

If what that article stated is true, and he is considered the best pass rusher, he is still going to go in the first.

I thought this other piece at the end of the article was interesting as well:

Meanwhile in the Journal Sentinel polls at linebacker, 11 scouts for 3-4 teams and 10 for 4-3 teams were asked scheme-specific questions on the five best outside and inside players to fit their defenses. The only proviso was that a player couldn't be named in each linebacker poll or in the defensive line polls that appeared Monday.
Here were the results:
Inside linebacker in a 3-4: Benardrick McKinney, 40 points (five first-place votes); Denzel Perryman, 34 (one); Eric Kendricks, 27 (two); Stephone Anthony, 26; Paul Dawson, 23 (three); Shaq Thompson, eight; Jordan Hicks, five, and Trey DePriest and Damien Wilson, one.
Outside linebacker in a 3-4: Fowler, 48 (six); Gregory, 38 (three); Beasley, 36 (one); Ray, 22 (one); Bud Dupree, 16; Nate Orchard, three, and Owa Odighizuwa and Shaq Thompson, one.
Middle linebacker in a 4-3: Anthony, 39 (five); McKinney, 36 (three); Perryman, 23; Kendricks, 19; Dawson, 14 (one); Jake Ryan, 10 (one); Hicks, four; DePriest and Ramik Wilson, two, and Taiwan Jones, one.
Outside linebacker in a 4-3: Beasley, 26 (three); Thompson, 21 (one); Ray, 15; Gregory (one) and Kendricks (one), 12; Dupree (one) and Fowler (two), 10; Kwon Alexander and Dawson (one), nine; Lorenzo Mauldin and Ryan, six; Hicks and Orchard, five, and Bryce Hager, Ben Heeney, Odighizuwa and Ramik Wilson, one.

Odd that Beasley is considered a 3-4 and 4-3 OLB fit.

They probably view Beasley as being similar to how I view him - as a close replica of Von Miller. Like Miller, they could play Beasley at SLB on base downs and line him up as a down end on passing downs.

To be clear, I view Beasley (and Miller, for that matter) best suited as a 3-4 OLB who focuses on getting upfield, not dropping in coverage or taking on a TE. I can see where evaluators would see otherwise.
