5. JA'WUAN JAMES, Tennessee (6-6, 311, 5.28, 1-2) – Four-year starter at RT. "Athletic enough to play either side but more suited to the right," one scout said. "He can walk in and start for you right off the bat. Solid, not spectacular. Has a lot of talent. One of those eight- to 12-year guys as a starter if he can stay healthy." Has 35-inch arms. "Very intelligent (Wonderlic of 25), great kid, solid player," said another scout. "Great family. Just draft him because you'll never have a problem with this kid." From Suwanee, Ga. "He's kind of like (Alabama's D.J.) Fluker from last year," a third scout said. "Just a big, powerful guy with long arms."

This guy is growing on me in the 2nd.

7. MORGAN MOSES, Virginia (6-6, 312, 5.20, 2-3) – "I was disappointed in him, I really was," one scout said. "He looks like Tarzan but kind of plays like Jane." Made his first 30 starts at RT and his final 12 at LT. "In September, I'd have said forget this guy, he's overrated," another scout said. "But the guy had a really good year doing what he does best, and that's outside pass pro. Not a good play-strength guy. Not a good run blocker. Has never really embraced the whole process as far as passion and work ethic." Long arms (353/8). "He's got some fatal flaws in terms of stiffness," a third scout said. "I could see him being a starter but not a very good starter." Although fearing he might revert back to his lazy past, a fourth scout said, "He may sneak into the bottom of the first. He's a better player than (Seantrel) Henderson and (Antonio) Richardson and a 1,000 times better kid and teammate." A fifth scout gave him a fourth-round grade. "Those Virginia offensive linemen scare the heck out of me," he said. "They're always athletic as heck but they're soft. There's something about Virginia. Maybe it's too academic or something." From Richmond, Va.

Scouts killing him here, supposedly Cowboys like him

8. BRANDON THOMAS, Clemson (6-3½, 318, 5.07, 4-5) – Everything changed in spring when he blew out a knee in an individual workout with the Saints. "He'd have gone second round," said one scout. "Somebody that's got some extra picks in the third may shelve him. He's got a chance to start." Started 30 games at LT and nine at LG, but projected to guard by most teams because of height. Has the arm length (34¾) to play outside. "He is going to change pro workouts," said another scout. "He is all about football. Coach on the field. Why do (we) need all these extra workouts? They've seen them on tape. If you worked out at the combine, there should be no workouts permitted after that. If you didn't, you get one workout. Who's going to pay for this kid's problem that was created by the New Orleans Saints? I think these workouts are foolish." From Spartanburg, S.C.

4th round, get him

The Newark Star-Ledger reported Thursday that Michigan OT Taylor Lewan can be "eliminated from consideration completely" with the Giants' No. 12 pick.

GM Jerry Reese wants the "cleanest guy possible" in the first round, and Lewan was popped with three misdemeanors during an alleged December assault of an Ohio State fan. Lewan is going in the top 10 and won't be available to the Giants regardless. NFL Network Mike Mayock's prospect crush Zack Martin could entice New York.

I am hoping for Gabe Jackson if they pick a guard. He is from a small town about thirty minutes away and I have always followed him.

All-Einstein line: Jake Matthews-LT,Laurent Duvernay-Tardif-LG,Gabe Ikard-C,John Urchel-RG,Cameron Fleming-RT.
Also the South Carolina guys again are smart like last couple of years. Just interesting.

I think Matthews is pretty bust proof eh? Don't get better bloodlines that that. Its obvious that Robinson has overtaken him, though.

Also, definitely see Martin to the Giants. If Lewan falls, a tackle desperate team (dolphins?) Will come calling

He's a developmental guy who needs to get stronger and work on his run blocking. He's got a good pass rush game. You could probably play this guy at LT. My problem is he's not as good as Parnell (now) and I really don't know what we have in Weems. I don't look for them to go OT this year unless someone falls or we can grab a versatile OL who can play two or more positions.

This is the RKG. Love him at G and I think he could train at C as well as play T if needed. Someone may take him in the third. I don't think we have a pick to use on a player who will sit a year but if you were to do that this is a guy.

He's my top rated T although I don't see him as having the top ceiling. Robinson and Lewan have better ceilings but aren't as ready as Matthews who is plug and play. Robinson is a better athlete than Smith; perhaps Taylor. Lewan has some issues. Robinson just needs to work on his game esp run blocking. So he may go ahead of Matthews. And no one is bust proof. Matthews is as bust proof as they come though. With more work and strength he could be like his Dad.

We ain't got to worry about those guys unless we play them later on down the road.

Bad feet and balance. Not a fit for ZBS IMO. He's a plodder. I've only seen a little of him FWIW though. He should go 3-5 just not us. To be fair I think he'd be a bit like Fred just not as good a run blocker but about the same short puller. He may just be one of those guys that don't look great but seem to get the job done.

I wonder if he is off the Cowboys board as well with all his run ins with the law?

This only strengthens my view that Aaron Donald will be a Giant.

I agree. I believe they may actually trade up for him, which is not their style.

Donald will have to make it past Tampa Bay for them to do it. Yes, I think he is going way higher than people believe.

If they cannot get him, they might look to get Martin or Ebron if he gets past Buffalo.

I think they go Zack Martin over Donald. OL is in worse shape than DL.

The one thing that makes Martin pretty attractive is his position flex. They could take him and use him practically anywhere.

But do not underestimate how much they view the DL as their lifeblood. They have Cullen Jenkins at tackle and have not resigned Shaun Rogers. They are in deep trouble there too.
