Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State - 6'2, 230 - RS Senior - #15

With each passing week, word gets louder and louder to all that follow the Cowboys that we better get familiar with all of the 2nd tier QB talent in this draft. The price at the very top is very high (also the product is very impressive), and given what we know about this front office, there is a very high chance that they will scratch that "win now" itch at #4 overall, and therefore dive into the murky waters of trying to find a future starting QB outside of their top 2 picks.

Thanks for a pretty good read...and another thing that I like about his prospect, beyond leaving the top two rounds in tact, is that he gives enough time in developing, that another to the stable can easily be added in progressive drafts as well. That I do like about the prospect.

Stop the presses, this might be the first time i have disagreed with Bob and that too vehemently. Dak doesnt have the arm to make all the throws, his throws to the sidelines are weak,he holds the ball too long while going through progressions even though he has plenty of time ,he is inaccurate on even intermediate throws which are killer in the NFL and the most damning is he takes so many dumb sacks for the guy who can run and is built like him.

Overthinking and getting cute. Believing you can make chicken salad out of chicken ****. You are sitting pretty with two very good to excellent prospects yet we are thinking of passing on them so we an get "better value" in later rounds. To me drafting a QB later typically is a wasted pick.

I actually like Dak quite a bit.

What I don't like is skipping out on the top guys when they're available in favor of the second tier guys. I don't like the idea of going thrifty and getting cute. If you're committed to drafting a QB, get the best one you possibly can.

Dak might be seen as purely a back up to Romo and nothing more.
The future QB being drafted later.
