Bob Sturm's nugget on Dak's so-called 'garbage' time

To be honest, I have watched the NFL for over 30 years and never heard the term "garbage time associated with any Cowboy player until Dak. I'm not saying it wasn't used.....I never heard until Dak.

What is trailing stat here...one.score two scores which quarter. You can be down two scores in 3rd Quarter. You count that as garbage?

Perhaps being down 2 TDs with half a quarter to go. Then again what if you score and are within 7 with 5 minutes to go.

There is definitely a garbage time but it's very narrow. A lot of anti dak crowd just tend to make a broad definition of it

There is context in this. He didn’t just randomly bring romo up out of thin air

He tweeted both qbs stats and mentioned how similar they were statistically

By many people's definition, if a team gets the ball first scores a fg and Dallas looses, the entire game was garbage time because at one point we were behind.

Tony Romo certainly took a ton of criticism here, but that seemed to go away after hitting the broadcast booth. Dak needs to rebound this year in a big way and needs to play better in the playoffs, but I can't remember any Cowboys player get this much criticism.

How is it possible you’ve never heard the term garbage time about a Cowboy. Every QB has garbage time. This is not a Dak thing at all.

Tony had it. Troy had it. Roger had it.

Romo also had a habit of coming out cold as ice in the first half, and then trying to salvage the game in the second half, which brought on a lot of his come-from-behind stats, even though he was usually the reason we were behind.

Late bloomer to social media........certain never read it in 70s, 80s and 90s print media.

Dak is 76-46 all time vs. teams with winning records. Can't really imagine and NFL QB having 76 'garbage' wins. Some of you all just want to hate but those numbers indicate he's been a good quarterback. Sorry to break it to you.

I don't think that's correct.. I will search it up and post it again.

Rodgers is 42-44....of course he has been playing since the stone age.
Mahomes is 17-11
Stafford is 12-72 - people make excuses for him, although he had some good players around him
Wilson is 36-32 - most of his is from earlier in his career.
Herbert 6-10....people are just so madly in love with his spiral. he is the fanzone darling
Allen 12-15 - this one surprised me. I thought it would be much better.
Burrow 8-10 - he is a one man show
Jackson - 13-9
Watson 7-19 - talk about the most ridiculous contract ever.
Dak is 18-24 - he was 16-16 at one point, but last three years have been brutal.

For Romo, it was win-or-go-home games. Dallas beats a top team with Romo playing well and it was, well, he chokes in win-or-go-home games.

It's just the age we live in.

Interesting…Where did you find this info?

Is it winning records from the current season the teams played (example…if a team was 3-2 going into the game did they qualify?), or is it based on which team had a winning record the previous season? I am just curious…

This is so true...... some odd reason, Romo win-or-go-home games always ended with a turnover by him. Remember called him one of the unluckiest players ever seen. I he would play great the entire game and bam, fumble or interception on the game-winning drive,
