Go to the last 45 seconds or so and you will see Charlie Waters bobble the snap on the extra point attempt after the miraculous TD play by Danny White and Drew Pearson. I swear I had COMPLETELY forgotten all about this play. Fortunately we had the lead at that moment, but the play is eerily similar to the Romo play and at the end of road playoff game, no less. Just think, if the score had been different, Waters could be a goat to this day (at least in that game).

I didn't remember the play but remembered we could have gone ahead by 4 but missed the convert so we only were ahead by three. Vin Scully and his confederate in the booth George Allen were saying, oh now the Falcons only need a FG to tie.

I remember screaming and jumping up and down in my living room and watching the replay over and over. It was great how Drew Pearson teased the crowd like he was throwing them the ball, then pointed at them like "ah ha." But that bobbled snap escaped my memory. Funny how we remember what we want to.

we forget the bobbled snap because it was irrelevant given we won. Had we won in Seattle on the hail mary, no one would remember the bobbled snap by Romo.

Just my observations....

Waters was a bobble.

Romo's slips down vertically out of his grasp. It was tefloned.

Or if Romo had somehow made it into the end zone on that play.

Amen, brother. But like Canadian said, tefloned or no, if we had won that game, we wouldn't remember Romo's "bobble" so vividly.

Anyone remember the missed point after Kmarts late TD against the Niners in 1993.

Actually if Romo had made it into the end zone, that play would be a part of his lore - how he changed a mishandled snap into victory for the 'Boyz.

I remember Aikman's reaction was like "what?," but he didn't worry for long. What a difference a win makes.

Or had just gotten the first down which he was oh so close to.

Honestly that was one of the most astonishing plays in Cowboy history.

In spite of the unbelievable slip, Romo, as only Romo can, almost pulls it out of the fire. It took a Gramatica little girl "block" and an incredible heads up effort by Babineux to come from the back side of that play and keep Romo from getting the first down.

That play for me is just like the deep ball to Irvin that Deion interfered with but was never called. Everytime I watch that I still expect the flag to appear. And everytime I watch Romo running that bobbled snap I think he is going to get the first down.

As incredibly painful as that moment was I honestly have to applaud Babineux. He made a great play.

Well.... I am not big on conspiract theories and such... but that play was altered. I believe that ball was slicked up.

There is this belief that "if you let enough time go by then things didnt happen as they seemed to at first"

That result of that play was altered and we were cheated out of possible win.

We sure did have two great ones, didn't we? People who say Drew doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame aren't looking at the whole. They're looking at stats only. If they consider what he brought to the game, his relentless nature and heart, the magnitued of his catches at clutch time, the voters would have to admit that Drew Pearson was one of the greatest wide receivers the NFL has ever seen. And don't get me started on Bob Hayes. We should have two #88s and two #22s in the Hall of Fame when all is said and done. The key word being should.

Lets not forget, Dallas was getting their clock cleaned up until the 4th Quarter. That touchdown was the 1st lead they had in the game.
Then they go to Philly and stink it up.
