Booker: we got a football player

No trade partner. We wanted to. They ended up picking a great guard, best guard in the draft. Yes a bit too high but who cares. Travis Frederick was thought to be taken too high and I think that turned out pretty well. Lol
the lombardis we hoisted, the respect we had, the glory, man it was a wild ride.

just bad bad bad bad defense on your part.

The pick and talent overall did nothing for the team.

We love winning. A stout line wins ALOT of games if it's dominating at the point. Wr doesn't do that.
we do love winning and you and i enjoy winning.

You enjoying beating on bad teams. I enjoy a win vs a rival thats going places.

We are NOT the same.

From what I remember, McClayvwas waiting until Stephen finished the call with Houston.
Yeah he reached them. Jerry it looked like said wait a minute, there was some more discussion, then right before the 49ers picked he had his hand in phone and kinda just waited to be sure, at least that's how I remember it.

Can't say I'm angry with the pick, but...we only had 3 picks to find starters. Grant or Walker on the Defense would have had a bigger impact on the team.
They just reupped Osa and spent a first on Mazi and you think Jerry is going to admit he made a mistake. DL was never going to be a pick prior to 3rd round at the very best.My guess is 2nd round is going to be Higgins from Iowa state if Burden is gone. Then there's that pesky RB situation

This has nothing to do with my way.

The needs of the team outweigh my wants/needs and guard wasn’t a need.

Tyler smith won’t be moving to LT. He’s an all pro guard. You don’t move players like that. He also struggled mightily at LT and his penalty problem was exposed so it’s a dumb idea in the first place.

Second of all. Booker is a good player. I like him. Unfortunately now they have to force a pick on a WR and a RB because they didn’t fill that need in FA. That’s what I am mad at. Booker is a great pick…for a team whose weapons on offense don’t end at CeeDee lamb.

Before being condescending, ask.
I'd argue there are vet FA WRs who can help who can be added after draft if needed.

Exactly and here's a wake up call to our fans on this board, if you thought we were going to find everything we need in this draft to fix what ails us, your setting yourself up for disappointment. This draft is about finding building blocks to install stalwarts for culture and a new way of doing things here. This wasn't ever gonna be a quick fix. The pick last night was correct and we can rest easy I think when we ponder our Oline capabilities. Day 2 should build on the physicality theme. I imagine we will find some speed too.
So they REACHED for a "building block" to replace an All Pro player who was already a stalwart for culture and you think this makes Dallas better? How? How does picking a guard that many didn't even have as the best guard in the class make this team better? Z. Martin hasn't done it but Booker is going to? No, this is a team that needed players who could score points on offense or be disruptive on defense and they got neither. It's the same team as last year except Booker might be a little better than Hoffman.

Grant, Walker, Warren, Nolen, Stewart, Barron, Harmon, Golden all would have done more for this team day one than the guy they ended up picking. You're talking about quick fixes? This was no fix. You guys keep talking about day two and sure they'll get some more players but they absolutely blew the #12 overall draft pick.

Great. So they can stop the Philly pass rush.

Who’s running into the holes the line creates?

Better question.

Who’s stopping Barkley on defense? Against Phillys offensive line?
I’ve been wanting a defensive tackle for six years now. I totally understand. I’m hoping the new coach takes one maybe two.

Solidified what offense?

CeeDee? There’s no playmakers on offense to solidify it for. As of yet.

Now they have to force picks and the entire league knows what they are doing. Watch teams leap in front of us for the Ohio state RBs now.
Solidified the offensive line, I should’ve been more clear

We needed a running back. Could have traded back and got Hampton
Houston was the only trade back offer and they were at 25. I heard this morning that they low balled offer with future resources and the cowboy needed it now so trade back wasn't an option.

We have no chance if we can't protect the QB or run the rock. Football 101. Go back , watch the playoffs last year and the SB. Ask the Chiefs if I'm right.

no

you paid an extra 2000 dollars to get 2 percent out of a computer chip. thats neither good value, impact or the right choice.
I don’t know why you’re so angry frustrated a little maybe. OK so the two wide receivers we wanted were gone, this was the best choice. Totally believe that.

Big difference is.

Martin came into a team that had weapons on offense. Bryant, Murray, Witten, Williams, etc.

This team right now as it stands has Lamb.

That’s it.
Right now. Those are key words.

Let's let the weekend play out before we start making definitive statements.

Fact is we had a ton of needs, and will still have needs at end of Saturday
My guess is they will address both those in draft. But I'm willing to let things play out.

No one wanted to trade back or up with us. They’re in the same situation. It’s a lousy draft.

Trench warfare is important. The entire NFC East have gangsters on their front 7.

Booker is probably a reach at 12, but he absolutely filled a need.

We'll be able to run the ball up the middle and just as important, Dak will have a cleaner pocket to make throws.

Booker just turned 21 too, so he will be kicking (bleep) for a decade.

Now, go solve our WR2 problem, Jerry.
