Booker: we got a football player

no

you paid an extra 2000 dollars to get 2 percent out of a computer chip. thats neither good value, impact or the right choice.
Even Dion‘s kid didn’t make it, I said DART was probably the best quarterback in the draft and he’ll go to the Giants, sure enough

Guards are run of the mill, easy to get, hard to find one that's elite day 1, and a leader of men. We lost Martin and quickly replaced him with a very bad dude. Can we just let ourselves be happy for once? Lol.

Trench warfare is important. The entire NFC East have gangsters on their front 7.

Booker is probably a reach at 12, but he absolutely filled a need.

We'll be able to run the ball up the middle and just as important, Dak will have a cleaner pocket to make throws.

Booker just turned 21 too, so he will be kicking (bleep) for a decade.

Now, go solve our WR2 problem, Jerry.
Reach no he was the best guard in the entire draft

Flash, I get it, will trade for a wide receiver we will draft a running back, and then we’ll get the defense

When we’re battling it out for 3rd place in the division next year I’ll be there to remind yall that liked this pick.
That would be the case no matter who they picked in Round 1. And you know that. But if it makes you feel good to complain about every thing they do, have at it. The pick was fine. The roster obviously isn't. Who are you hoping for in Round 2?

Yup I did too. You were right. Sheddeur just is raw and how coachable will he be? What's his upside or ceiling? Giants got better last night. So did we. By the time day 2 is done tonight, I think our fanbase will calm down and begin to see the bigger picture come into focus.

We needed a running back. Could have traded back and got Hampton
Traded back to where?

Hampton went at #22.

What team between #13 and #21 was looking to move to #12 and give up their 2nd round pick?

Only four teams were able to trade down and none of them finished the day without a 1st round pick.

Texas went from #2 to #5
Giants went from #34 to #25 (they already had #3)
Falcons went from #46 to #26 (they already had # 15)
Eagles went from #32 to #31

The only team we know that was interested in #12 was Houston, who has #34. We don’t know what they offered for the Cowboys to drop out of the first round altogether.

These things take two sides to work. I wish it didn’t.

30 years and this dude is preaching patience.

Jerry has you hook, line, and sinker.
No if you know me you know your wrong in your statement. Jerry is a buffoon when it comes to players and evaluations. But that's totally different than drafting a guy like Booker. I can separate my displeasure with ownership from player evaluation. I'm not about to let my dismay with the two idiots override my joy and the fact we landed a great guard and just might have found the right HC. I'm willing to wait with caution, to let everything settle. Has nothing to do with the last 30 years. This is about now and the next 3-4 years.

When the Cowboys are on the outside looking in next year.

Remember who told ya so.

So one player you wanted to select defensively after I assume.... Will stop Philly offense?
Nope. But look at what Carter, Davis and a cheap FA like Baun did for Philly.

Amazing what happens when you have people who actually want to win in an organization and there is no infinite job security.

So they REACHED for a "building block" to replace an All Pro player who was already a stalwart for culture and you think this makes Dallas better? How? How does picking a guard that many didn't even have as the best guard in the class make this team better? Z. Martin hasn't done it but Booker is going to? No, this is a team that needed players who could score points on offense or be disruptive on defense and they got neither. It's the same team as last year except Booker might be a little better than Hoffman.

Grant, Walker, Warren, Nolen, Stewart, Barron, Harmon, Golden all would have done more for this team day one than the guy they ended up picking. You're talking about quick fixes? This was no fix. You guys keep talking about day two and sure they'll get some more players but they absolutely blew the #12 overall draft pick.
Drafting another Michigan dt would have caused a revolt on here lol. Walker is raw, Warren is a tightend lol...we have several.Nolen is a bust waiting to happen with off field issues, Stewart was a bust candidate with traits, low production, Barron might have been the best option other than Booker. Love Barron. But I love the guy we got too. We can't have it all. We did fine.

Right now. Those are key words.

Let's let the weekend play out before we start making definitive statements.

Fact is we had a ton of needs, and will still have needs at end of Saturday
My guess is they will address both those in draft. But I'm willing to let things play out.
They forced their own hands now. That’s my issue. This team is constantly getting in its own way.

Guard wasn’t a need. This team was anemic on offense regardless of the line. They couldn’t score points. Instead of using a pick on golden or Hampton they went guard and are praying there is no run on RBs before they pick next? This team has 0 plan. Other than stay relevant.

We love winning. A stout line wins ALOT of games if it's dominating at the point. Wr doesn't do that.
Who’s the WR? Other than lamb that the stout line is going to block long enough to throw to?

This wr group sucks at getting separation when there is time. Other than CeeDee

Again, this is a soft rebuild. I'm being realistic. I'm not expecting playoffs this year. I'm fine with that as long as we are getting things in the right direction long-term.

A good line that can give time for a WR to get open, then even an average WR can be made to look good. However if the O line is weak then even CD cannot be impactful, that is when you get those short dunk passes. Are you seriously telling me we have no one after CD? Also we only went through day 1 of the draft, we still have a ways to go before this thing is done.
lol.

Rush had time last season. The line wasn’t the issue in pass protection.

The WRs on the team couldn’t get open. Even with time. So sure. Let’s grab a guard. Not the WR who excels at getting open quickly. In a run first offense. Let’s not grab a DT who we can build the defense around. Let’s grab a guard to add to the other 2 first rounders. We can collect them all!
