Booker: we got a football player

Yes. They need WR and RB to score more. That isn't news. Doesn't mean we don't need help in the middle of the line with Sexy Dexy and Jalen Carter to deal with. They have obviously convinced themselves that Dak is worth 60 million and therefore, worth protecting. That's a whole other subject. I didn't want O-line either. In any round. I said that on here weeks ago. Doesn't make it a bad pick.

Man, the Brock Hoffman disrespect is crazy. The line got way better once he was inserted. We just had a mediocre RB and lacked a real weapons that were a threat outside besides 88. OG was not a need, it was just a safe pick that’s it.
I think Hoffman would be a better LG than RG. He was checkered against power last year. Did very well with Dexter Lawrence, but really struggled with Vea. I think playing him at LG is a better fit. I really hope they consider moving Smith to LT, and Guyton to RT with Hoffman at LG

Grant is a good player too, no doubt.

Did you have Grant higher then Booker?

Do you still feel that way if Dallas had Booker rated higher then Grant and went with best player available on their board?
I had Grant rated higher, top 20 at worst. Whatever Dallas had Booker rated, I think Grant would have been more impactful. I am not unhappy with ooker though, good pick aside from a run-stuffing DT.

There are plenty of people who think he won't be much as a pass rusher. This is my point and it's why I brought up how this draft stinks - if Grant doesn't turn out to be a three down player, he's for sure not worthy of a top 15 pick. You can justify a mauling guard with some athleticism issues in the top 15.
So what. There are equally as many people (probably more) who say Booker was a reach at 12. There are no guarantees in the draft. Bottom line there were two excellent DT prospects at least to choose from.

For those interested, Booker is wearing number 52 here, just as he did at Alabama.

Apologies if this was already said here or in another thread!

...I mentioned the holes in Bookers game. Please read what I wrote.

You can justify a guard in the top 15 that is a big mauler with low athleticism, you can't justify a DT who isn't on the field for 3 downs and get to the QB. Sorry, but that's the league - get to the passer. Pass rushers get taken in the top 15. Grant is a project as a pass rusher, one that some scouts believe could turn into a good pass rusher one day, others don't believe he can be.

Do you understand how one is more of a risk than the other at 12?

Respectfully I think the problem is you envision yourself as some sort of expert talent evaluator and all you are listening to is your own words. Let's agree to disagree have a good day.

....I'm going by experts along with my own opinion. I wouldn't have hated Grant at 12, but Booker is a safer pick there.

He's not really making the pick. He may announce it or make the phone call, but they get a consensus first.
Sorry buddy, I just do not believe that .........Narcissist do not work that way ....... Jerry is large and in charge and surrounds himself with yes men.

A lot of these big 2 down players come into the league and suck.

See Mazi for an example.

Booker was a better pick and far more impactful.

I love the pick! I was hoping for either Book or Grant so I can't argue with either one. But I'm still on record saying no matter how realistically good this draft is for the Cowboys, they can't draft their way into the playoffs. That will still have to be earned. I don't think BS can get this team there.

Some had Booker as 7th or 8th overall.

Dallas needs talent. I would have been happy with Grant but seems like Schotty wants to run the ball and protect Dak since injuries are starting to pile up.

Dallas needs to upgrade run defense, no doubt. It has to be done

really good look at Booker. While I was calling for a WR first, I do think this guy is a great guard. Check this out:

They just reupped Osa and spent a first on Mazi and you think Jerry is going to admit he made a mistake. DL was never going to be a pick prior to 3rd round at the very best.My guess is 2nd round is going to be Higgins from Iowa state if Burden is gone. Then there's that pesky RB situation
Well they went DE instead of DT, but talking to the Fan Draft show he said he also moved inside, as well as standing up OLB.

I know they don't like DT much, but are slowly changing their minds. We just have a harder time evaluating Defensive players.

I don’t hate the pick
