Wow, where to start with this one. I've been to a lot of Cowboys games, but never have I seen one like this. This was surreal in so many ways.

First, some kudos to Cowboys fans. Forget what else you may have read or heard, they showed up yesterday. Yes, there were quite a few Giants fans, but not nearly as many as I expected. Nothing like the Bears game. Perhaps, Hurricane Sandy might have had something to do with that, but it was 85-15 Cowboys fans yesterday, and they were loud.

Second, and this was amazing, during the Breat Cancer Awareness message that they play on the screen in October, every time Jerry was on the screen, he was mercilessly booed, and loudly. I looked at him through the binoculars, and he was uncomfortable, you could tell. Garrett and Romo got a soft boo, but Jerry got the whole stadium on him. That's encouraging.

Then they played one of them there football games.

Domination. Without Murray, without Lee, without even a semblance of a running game, the Cowboys were clearly the better team on the field. Outside of a couple of plays, the Giants couldn't move, while the Cowboys offense danced through Giants secondary like warm butter.

Felix, Dez, and the strangest Tony Romo I've ever seen, LITERALLY handed the game to the Giants on a platter. I hate that phrase, "We gave the game away," became it's seldom really true, but this time, it was absotively, posilutely the king's truth. That game was wrapped in our finest cloth and presented to New York in a grand ceremony.

Romo was weird. The first pick, yes, Dez should have crossed the face of the safety. The second was an odd choice given the down and distance, and Austin failed to adjust as the DB did. The third was just a great play by a great player, and the fourth was a desperation fourth-down heave. But how many balls did Romo simply sail over wide open receivers? That was truly out of character for Romo.

The rest of the time, Romo was brilliant, which made his day all the more odd. Three receivers over 100 yards, including Witten's best statistical day of all time. This, with a running game that produced 19 yards in 17 carries. Ugh.

Then there's Dez. What a nightmare of a player. On one hand, he makes plays that simply no one else on this team can. That play late.....incredible, and it was freakishly unlucky that it didn't Dallas the game game.

But that punt return...just one week after the abomination return in Carolina? You can't win with stupid players, and this guy just doesn't get it. He makes plays that bring you out of your chair, then he follows them with so many head-scratchers, you don't know how you can get away with putting him out there.

Felix Jones, I'm done with him. Waiver wire the minute Murray is activated. I guarantee you, Lance Dunbar can do EVERYTHING that Felix can do and a lot more. Right here, and right now. Felix just doesn't seem to even care. Did you see how he was carrying the ball on the fumble? Dallas was marching down the field with ease....and then that. He doesn't have Dez' freak ability to be worth keeping around. Bye-bye in the car-car.

In the midst of all this chaos.....

The defense was incredible. Mo and Carr were unbelievable. Scandrick and Jenkins, too. Sensabaugh, McCray....you could count the whole secondary's mistakes yesterday on two or three fingers. Brilliant play.

The front was terrific was well. Bruce Carter was everywhere, Ernie Sims contributed Day 1, and the defensive line was a wall against the run. I could have used more pass rush, but the Giants protect well. Ware was quiet all day, but in the absense of Sean Lee, I don't see how we can quibble with the defense in the least.

Jason Garrett........hmmm.

I defend the guy, but yesterday I was really frustrated with him. You've got to run the ball and get that first down on 3rd and 1 late. How many difficult sideline fades did he call on 3rd and short? Granted, he playcalled a comeback of the ages, and he can't do it for them, but my support was shaken a bit yesterday, and I'll be watching ultra close the rest of the way.

If this makes everyone feel better, the Giants fans weren't exactly celebrating afterward. They saw what happened. The Cowboys whooped their team AGAIN in every phase of the game. They got a pre-flood sympathy present. They know they have a bad 6-2 team that isn't as good as our 3-4 team, but they just play smarter.

This will go down as one of the most incredibly emotional up-and-down games I've ever witnessed, as I'm sure it will you.

Jerry was booed in a breast cancer video, the Cowboys crumbled in self-destruction. Romo was equally booed, then resurrected the team from the tomb before our eyes. The defense stood tall against all odds, then the miracle of 24-23 became a reality. Then fumble, pick, call reversal, ball game.

A fingertip out of bounds. A FINGERTIP OUT OF BOUNDS. Does that not sum up this season perfectly.

Now, it will take 7-2 to get in the playoffs. They should be 6-2 right now. Can they manage to clean up their act enough to accomplish that? I say no, but then again, there's nothing that makes sense about this team.

What a crazy, stupid, talented, tough, idiotic, promising, puzzling, tease of a football team this is. And what a jilted fan base we continue to be. We need to quit her because she's bad for us, but we just can't.

I think this goes down as one of the most memorable games in the history of the rivalry. No, we're not gonna win all of them when it comes to that. I'd put it in the top ten though.

/The greatest is still the Emmit Smith game.

We should be use to this by now....

Unfortunately, this is the truth. I was watching with a group of friends from all over the country. We're all staying at the same hotel for a business trip we're on.. and they all looked at me all game and kept telling me how hard this game must be on me.

I said the same.. im used to it by now, so it really didn't phase me as much as it used to.

We really are a definition of a poorly managed team. Maybe just a bad team.

We find WAYS to lose games. We have Baltimore and Giants beat handily. But like any bad teams, we find ways to lose them. It's sickening. Some people sees being competitive as hope but right now I see the need for change in order to turn the franchise around. No one is exempt....JJ, Romo, Garrett....Bryant.

I cut Felix right now to send a message. I don't care about the comp pick since I doubt he signs anyone will give him any significant contract. The message sent by cutting him will be worth more than the comp pick.

I certainly agree about Felix Jones. He should be cut today, regardless of Murray's health status.

Teams have to learn to win. That requires culture, structure, and leadership.

You see hints of some of that, but it certainly isn't there. I'm optimistic about 2013, as I have been since the summer, but the constant known as Jerry always threatens to keep that final obstacle out of reach.

Frustrating.

I was both as proud as I have ever been of this team and the most embarassed I've ever been by this team in the same game.

That was an awesome read and an example of how good this board can be at times.

Thanks.

:lmao:

I hear you man. I had a few friends call me, and they were shocked I was in a peaceful mood, neither happy or mad.

Usually I'm 1 of the 2. Either blaming somebody and cursing, or just hyping the team up.

Kind of you to say. Thanks.

It's therapeutic and cathartic to just write it down. Helps me move on to Atlanta.

I don't know why I care. But I do.

I wonder what conversations are being had today. Yesterday showed Felix' butt to the main.

Very good post Erod.

I'm convinced the 2011 and 2012 Dallas Cowboys are some sort of Torquemadan torture device designed to make me want to go to church instead of watching the Cows with friends.

Thanks, and it is a bit like sitting in a box of scorpions, watching this team invent new ways to loose football games.

The place exploded on the almost-TD. That was a really cool scene.

Once the rawness wears off, I'll look back at that one for sure. One of the great ones they'll be playing on the NFL Network 10 years from now.

The Giants knew they got whipped. But they took better care of the ball, even with two turnovers, than we did. Strange game.

1st Cowboy game for me, and after the 2nd quarter i just felt like we had a real chance to win, i was seated amongst a lot of negative fans but i was on seats edge from mid second quarter til the end. One thing i dont hear no one bring up was a Hakeem nicks catch in the forth that clearly looked out of bounce that Garrett didn't challenged that could have erased the last field goal. Haven't see the game on TV yet but it looked like he was no where close to being in on the big screen at ythe stadium.

I was thinking the same thing on that Nicks catch, from section 416 it looked out and I wondered why no second looks. I'm home now and will check it out
