Just curious what people would do...

Given age of our team at various positions, strengths at positions, etc.... if you could land 2 young (younger than 26) good guards (say potential pro bowl) or 1 guard + center of the same caliber/age, would you trade Dez for them?

Say these guards are proven to be be guys that can move lineman off the ball, and are smart/good in pass protection.

So now we can win short yardage, run consistently, keep a more stout pocket...but you lose an elite physical talent at WR.

You'd have Miles, Robinson, Witten catching, so need to find some depth there.

Wondering what we could get for Dez if we "sold high"...What would you accept for Dez at this point?

Nobody would give up two potential pro bowl lineman under 26 for a WR.

And even if they would, the answer would still be no. And a resounding no, at that.

Unless I'm mistaken, but this is not the final year of the NFL, so we don't have to be consumed with winning now. Give the young linemen some time to develop, then at the end of the year we can add some more (hopefully Peter Konz or Michael Brewster)

That's pretty much the response I expected...haha. Just curious. I personally think we have a habit of overvaluing our players...even if Dez has beastly potential.

Maybe the question should have been what would it take for you to trade Dez?

That's pretty comical, till it happens to you!
Was on a training exercise back in the day when we had basically the same thing happen firing a 4deuce. Luckily the round didn't rotate enough to "arm",but there were lots of folks scattering.

Yeah, I would agree with you. Even still I was expecting the responses we got in the thread. Not saying right or wrong on either. I'd be apt to pull that trigger and improve multiple facets of our game considering we have another lead WR and a great TE...and our window is shrinking (thinking of Romo, Ware and Witten's age/mileage)

But according to others its easy to find quality lineman...I mean, if we don't include our own history. It was preposterous enough to get a punch in the face, haha.

I can't imagine how you'd ever get anyone to agree to give you two young, probowl worthy, guards for 1 WR. No matter who the WR is.

I'd say if there was any chance you could swindle someone like this then, yes, of course I'd do it. WR's can't make much of an impact without solid O-Line play so having even better O-Line play would only make Miles, Witten, Robinson, and everyone else that much more effective.

:lmao:

Good one BP.

To answer the question, Yes. If we could get two Pro Bowl type OLs for Dez, I would make that trade in a minute. However, I don't see that as an options or us ever. Just not going to happen.

would u trade dez for logan mankins or carl nicks straight up?

just a question.
