Why is Bosa the supposed cowboys target and not Lawson? Lawson looks much more dynamic

I like him! I doubt that comforts anyone on this board even a little bit, but there you go.

Never even seen Lawson mentioned in the 1st rounds anywhere. Going to look him up.

Didn't realize his first name was shaq I have seen him in a lot of mocks actually. Around 10-20 picked.

Yeah, I didn't pay him attention until I noticed were probably not signing a big name DE and I really dont want Bosa. I looked at the next best DE on most mocks and watched Lawson and after watching him, I'm wondering why Bosa is ranked higher. Osu boost package?

Lawson struggles with the stop start and that means he is poor at coming off blocks.

No one has made more defensive plays in the past two years then Bosa. Bosa was double and triple teamed as he was gameplanned every game by opposing OC. Lawson not so much.

Show me where he is double teamed much less tipple teamed. Maybe against some small schools. Go watch Michigan St in 2014 and 2015

MSU put 3 guys on him when he went to the left and helped the LT with a back when he went right. Every other team would double and triple team him. The progression of most games was to try to have a back/Y chip to help out and by the end they were triple teaming him TE, OT, and G.

In those MSU games people like to handwave at the sack numbers but he was clearly the focus despite the talent in the OSU interior line. He ended up with a half dozen pressures and several hits from what I can see in those two games. If that is the worst he shows then he deserves all the credit he gets.

Watch any game. This guy is ranked anywhere from 1 to 4 depending on what scouting service there is. Listening to you guys he is a marginal first round talent.

Lawson looks like a slug in the championship game but he had a knee injury. That is not a good thing.

Here he is against FSU where he got hurt and Miami before hurt and he looks less flexible and less explosive off the line as opposed to Bosa. It becomes very evident when he has to redirect and he looks heavy footed.

I think he would be a better fit in a 3-4 personally, but that's just me. If Dallas trades back and he is one of the picks, it would not be the worst thing in the world.

I don't really get all the Bosa hate though. I guess I am in the minority on this board when I think he will end up being a great pick on this squad playing opposite Lawrence. 10+ year solution given his young age.

When I watched Clemson play, Dodd made all the plays. Probably because they focused on Shaq. But Dodd was very active.

Forget measurables. Lawson makes more plays.

Laughable.

Shaq Lawson Career stats: 40 games, 20 sacks, 45.4 TFL, 1 FF, 123 TOT
Joey Bosa Career Stats: 38 games, 26 sacks, 51 TFL, 5 FF, 1 INT, 148 TOT

Yeah, he makes more plays...

Lets examine 2015 and who's trending in which direction.

Lawson 12.5 sacks and 24.5 TFL 1 FF
Bosa 5 sacks and 16 TFL 1FF

The trend is your friend. I know Lawson played in three more games but had a breakout season and is seemingly progressing while Bosa regressing.

Lawson had Dodd on the defensive line with him and essentially came out of nowhere this season. Bosa was the premier pass rusher in college football coming into the season and on a defensive line with no one else rushing the passer. Saying Bosa is "regressing" is about as self serving as it gets.

You can look at things within a vacuum and disguise it by calling it a trend, but the reality is you're ignoring how the game of football actually works in order to support your weak argument.

I'll just cut my losses right now. you clearly have absolutely no intention of having a valid debate.

Adlophus Washington who will be a second or 3rd round pick was one of Bosa's line mates. Teams also had to account for Perry ,Lee and Vonn Bell. Bosa was surrounded by plenty of talent that will be highly drafted. BTW I dont say he is regressing but his stats sure do.
