Every off season we get mad at the Jones family for being cheap. When you look around the league at some of the teams who spent big money, how has it paid off for them??


When you look at the moves we made Barr, Fowler, Turpin, Peters, how solid have they been for us. Going back to last season we still have Kearse here who was a cheap spend, along with Hooker who was a cheap (not going there lol) , but they've played well.

What are your thoughts on this as it compares to teams that have signed players to big deals and it hasn't worked out well. Look at the guys we wanted Gregory, Bobby Wagner etc, give your thoughts.....

it only works if you draft well..which we do...so it works.

Lol ah back on the Turpin train eh? That thread must have not been fun for your alerts lol but yes good point these last two FA classes have given us solid contributors.

DQ has to take some credit as well, he’s the one with the plan for how to use them. Kearse comes to mind most in those terms.

I wanted Wagner here badly and he would have been a waste of money.

So their plan actually worked out. Don’t go blowing it by signing a gimpy diva WR.

Jerry Jones got tired of getting burned by free agent contracts. The cheap contracts incentive is to come to Dallas play will leave and go get a good contract

Who is we?

I like just about everything the Cowboys did this offseason. DT would have been nice in FA, thats about it. Wagner for me was the guy that got away. Wagner in the middle of our defense would go a long way to solving our run defense issues. I would have signed Wagner and let LVE walk.

Well let's be fair, up until recently these bargain bin signings have been mostly a pathetic parade of JAGs or worse, we're just now getting used to the idea that they might have turned the corner.

I'm good with the mid level FA than I am overpaying and end up not getting what you expected. I do think if that is the road you choose then hitting on the draft is critical.

Not to cast dispersions, but I’ve noticed the pro player personnel decisions have improved over the past two years.

I think Dan Quinn’s defensive player decisions have been really good for the most part, which has really helped.

We've had plenty of good vet free agent come to this FO for contracts . . . they all leave the way they came. Complaining about it here will simply accomplish nothing. The solution is to convince Jerry and Stephen, not the members of this website. Do that and you'll gain far more of our respect.
