Andy Reid and his staff came in, minimized mental mistakes, and took the game from the heart of our team. There were various mental lapses yesterday but one particular play stood out to me as we entered the locker room at halftime down 7-13 but knowing the margin was much wider than the score indicated.

Parcells put To in on defense for one play. With about about 30 seconds to go in the half he placed TO back as a deep safety. At the time I was thinking what the??? Andy Reid saw this and simply called a dump play. Jeff Garcia dumped the ball for a short gain leaving one second on the clock for a FG to take the margin to 6 points and end the half.

The look on BP face was priceless. "oh he got me" was spelled all over his face...

It's a game of chess folks and we lost miserably.

Yep, this is the 2nd time that I have thought he was outcoached. They seem to have a better than 70% chance of guessing what we were doing, guys were in our backfield often and early on run plays, one play Garcia knew our blitz up the middle and got us for a huge huge game, and this is just going from memory, im sure there were more.

Two groups of posters I am really waiting to hear from, they haven't posted yet.

The "Stats" guys that say we do have a pass rush.

And

The "We were do one" guys that said the Saints game was an abberation and we were just "do for one" .

I used to be a fan of the 3-4 because, when ran right, can really disrupt an offense. But, this D put zero pressure on Garcia all night long. Maybe there were a couple plays, but for the most part, the Eagles line owned this game.

Offensively, I think Romo tries to force too much to TO. On that play where TO was double covered in the end zone, I couldn't make out who it was (I think Glenn) was wide open in the flat.

I guess BP also took out the flat pattern on goal line situations. Instead, on a 4th-and-goal, he decides to run a sweep with Barber, our supposed power back.

I don't know what the deal is coaching wise, but BP and all the Cowboys coaches are clearly being out-coached. Hope this is a wake up call for them.

The play we are talking about with TO in as a defender, actually 8 seconnds on the clock, BP expecting a Hail Mary type....Garcia scrambles (longest 7 seconds ever) dumps to Westbrook for 10 yard gain, enough for a great kicker to get them back momentum....what struck me was the timekeeping...long 8 seconds and the fact that we leave Westbrook alone???? huh???

Unfortunately, Philly's defense knew our offense better than we did. Looks like all of our creativity went to New Orleans.

I dont remember the last time we tried a trick play. Even if just to throw the defense off a little bit.

We shouldn't be surprised though. We brought in Chris Palmer to replace Sean Payton. Yeah, the genius architect of the Texans vaunted offense.

No need to mention Zimmer, everybody already knows the deal with our defense.

I have no reason at this point to believe we will accomplish anything in the playoffs. Maybe once I have no expectations, they can exceed them.

As Ricky Bobby's daddy said "If you ain't first, you're last"

I'm gonna have to take a look at that play again. But I think you are right.

That was a horrible defensive call.

The worst thing about it, the Eagles had no other options to try a hail mary or to hit a sideline pass really quickly and step out of bounds.

There is no excuse not to have the sidelines blanketed. Instead, we sent everyone into the end zone into the Zimmer prevent defense (aka let the other team move at will into scoring position)

The same BS happened against NY. We took the lead w/ 2 min left, Zimmy calls the prevent defense, NY marches downfield and scores a TD in a minute. A freaking minute.

Lst night, the Eagles only had 30 seconds. 30 lousy seconds and we couldn't stop them. And, we were in a prevent mode defense.

Yes we were outcoached.
But mental mistakes didn't lose us the game.
We got the crap beat out of us on both sides of the ball.

On Defense, Why?
Because the following players are not playing like NFL starting caliber: Canty, Spears, James, Henry, Watkins/FS, Burnett/Carp

These six positions/guys continue to play poorly--coaching or not, we won't beat any good teams.

Like I've said before, BP and his staff coaches to not lose, not to win. Big difference.

Maybe the Bob Stoops rumors will start again.:D

I don't think we coach to not lose...we just aren't very smart.
For example, on offense, we now give up on the run way too quickly.
We should have kept to the running game more yesterday and tried to keep Garcia off the field.
