Season revolves around the health of these three players IMO. This is based on what has been seen and reported. The players are Flozell, Gurode, and Ratliff. If Romo goes down I have more confidence in Kitna managing a game or even having to make a play than the backups for these three. The sunshine blowers will say Bigg for Adams, and Spears or Igor for Ratliff. I say you have a line which is now worse at two positions. By the way from what I see there is no backup for Gurode.

better add in felix, kosier in that mix too

A healthy Felix is a good weapon and will be nice to have around. Even so I think Dallas can win with Barber and Choice at running back. I just like that they have all three.

T Choice ran well last year, and I think McQuistan, Holland, Proctor and Free can fill in fine, as long as Romo is in the backfield.

The first four picks next years draft in no particular order better be, a left tackle, two wide receivers and a center..

why draft a receiver when we can trade for proven talent? receiver is so hit or miss from the draft, I'd rather trade one of our 3 stud rbs for a stub receiver.

Don't kid yourself on the importance of Romo and Ware. Kitna managed the Lions to zero victories last year. If Romo goes down for more than a handful of games, we're done. If Ware misses significant time, the defense is shot. The season hinges on those guys primarily, and then on guys like the ones you mentioned to a much lesser extent.

not that i don't agree with romo's importance....but kitna played in 4 games for the lions last year...they surely would have won games if he played the whole season.

You can't continue to pay for proven players, money and draft picks make it a failed plan you have to develop your own players.

Dallas finally clued in by drafting a QB to groom, two kickers to groom, Cb's to groom, but continue to try to make undrafted, reality show waste of time winners or late round picks work, and thus, besides crayton as a number three receiver at best, there hasn't been and progress in developing receivers. it's time to spend some picks on receivers, the position had been ignored far too long..

I would prefer a fully grown WR but if a stub is all you can get...

I was solidly in this camp, but I'm starting to warm up to the idea of him as our #2.
You don't have to have great speed and or great size to qualify as a quality #2 receiver on a contending team.
It helps but its not necessary.

Crayton has nice speed and quickness. Perhaps just enough. He runs great routes, has great hands. His strength and catching radius are better than his 6-0 205 frame would suggest.

We still need both Austin and Hurd to step up and man that critical 3rd WR spot.

But I'm past the point where I believe we have to have Austin's size and speed in the starting line-up.

Romo still has to top the list. Losing Adams or Gurode would suck big time, but it wouldn't equal the blow of losing Romo.

You're underestimating the impact of the QB position. Losing Romo for the season immediately ends all SB hope.

I would say that the health of Kosier is probably twice as important as that of Flozell.

How so?

When healthy (like he was in 2007), Adams has proven to be a pro bowl level player. Koiser's an average NFL starter, maybe a little less.

They have a better reserve option for Koiser in Holland if he goes down.

Kosier is much better in space blocking for the run than Flozell...very key to getting Felix Jones good runs around the left side off-tackle.
