Two options only.

A. Cowboys go 6-4 down the stretch to go 9-7 and edge out the Eagles for the NFC title. Lose in the first round of the playoffs, Garrett gets a new deal at least 3 years.

B. Cowboys go 5-5 down the stretch, end up 8-8, miss the playoffs and Garrett gets fired. New HC next season.

Good question.
If it comes down to that, I say B.
Maybe the situation makes the decision a little too easy.

Can i say B more than once?

Whatever option gets us a new coaching staff and that includes Marinelli a guy that gets a get out of jail free card every year.

He's single handedly drafted 2 busts and never gets a real DT.

Ill take option A with highlighted part of B I dont want to lose in first round but i can almost read the writing if boys make playoffs and lose first game Garrett will get canned.

Only a fool chooses A. I think it would be a better question if the choice for A was:

Go 9-7, win the division and enter the playoffs...ending tbd.

Thats a bit tougher to decide. That said if we are only good enough to go 9-7 do we really think a championship is realistic? Jmo

Is losing a playoff game worth losing a couple of spots in draft positioning?

I think its a league of parody and any given sunday you can be beat. I was listening to fish earlier this week and he said and i agree."there are 4 or 5 good teams and 4 or 5 bad teams and then everybody else is close. I just didnt thing the cowboys would fall into the everybody else category

If I knew ahead of time that a Super Bowl title was off the table this season, I wouldn't care how many losses this season had if it improved my prospects next season just a little bit.

We're about to go 3-4. At that point the season is over. Tank the season. Fire Garett. Draft top DT.

I’m tired. I wanna win all the time. IF we do B, my feelings are good!

A, does firing Garrett solve the problem?

You still have to have another HC and maybe they force these other coaches on him, that's happened before.

Laying all of this on one guy, although I do not like him as HC, is not going to fix anything. One thing I will argue is the thinking anyone is better than Garrett, that is absurd. I've seen worse, we've had worse.

Gimme A, I'm old and don't know if I'll be around for B.

The option he provided was to make the playoffs and lose. Meaning no chance of winning...
Well, that's one more game and it keeps the Eagles at home, the next best thing to making it ourselves.

If I thought the only problem was the HC, I'd be all over B, providing he tells me who might be coming in and can he hire his own staff and run his own team. Those last two things in that previous sentence are highly unlikely.

I would like B. Could I also get that with a side of new GM.

I get that but in the real world you dont know which is why i said that. I will always root for the cowboys to make playoffs because in my mind they always have a chance. If were going hypothetical here and we knew for sure were losing game 1 then Id vote to go 0-10.

I understand your point though
