Bottom of the roster: Pick 2 of these 5

At bloggingtheboys.com, Grizz lists whom he thinks are the 48 Parcells mentioned being able to set out of the 53 roster spots. Left off that list are a couple who I think are pretty sure to make the roster: Marcus Coleman, Montavious Stanley, and Terrance Copper. That leaves 2 spots at the very bottom of the roster...here are the 5 most likely choices:

Sam Hurd, WR
Jamaica Rector, WR
Tony Curtis, TE
Junior Glymph, LB
Nathan Jones, CB

Of course, you could leave Pile, Polite, and maybe Tyson Thompson off the roster where Grizz puts them in. I think TT could be in a battle with Keylon Kincaide and Pile could be replaced by Coleman, opening another DB spot.

But of these 5, which 2 do you think most likely to contribute (probably on special teams)? Or is Hurd "so good" that you can't put him on the practice squad?

Jones stays.

Why do folks keep trying to push him off the roster? He's played every game for 2 years now. Parcells loves this kind of player.

I don't think Pile makes the final roster.

In that case Hurd, Curtis & Jones would be on my list.

curtis stays (because he plays TE and BP has a pact with the devil where he has to amass as many TE's over his life span or else his soul will be eternaly damned)
and nate jones stays (because he plays defense and is BP's pet project)

Both Curtis and Polite on the final roster? Tell me what you like about Curtis. I'm not disagreeing, but I hadn't considered him much until this past weekend.

So out of Jones, Pile, and Coleman, which is least likely to make the team?

Coleman least likely.
Pile next least likely.

I can just see Bill salivating at the thought of 4 TE's (plus Polite) on the final roster. I'm just not that impressed with Ryan.

I would keep 3 TE's plus Polite but I would not be suprised in the least if we kept 4 plus Polite.

I don't know who we would drop but I see us keeping Hurd, Jones, & Curtis. I think we'd like to keep Glymph but we are overstocked at LB already and unless someone gets hurt he is the odd man out. Hopefully, we can stash him on the PS.

I agree with Winicki that Parcells would have no problem keeping 4 TEs plus Polite if he can.

I think Hurd will be our 4th WR with Green as the 5th WR/Return guy. Copper has had a lot of chances to impress but he hasn't done it yet, I don't see him making the final cut.

Curtis is an excellent blocker with good hands and he runs nice routes. If he can produce on STs then he is in for sure.

These are Grizz's 48:
QB Bledsoe, Romo, Henson
RB Jones, Barber, Thompson
WR Owens, Glenn, Crayton, Green
OL Adams, Kosier, Gurode, Rivera, Colombo, Petitti, Johnson, Fabini
TE Witten, Fasano, Hannam, Polite
DL Spears, Ferguson, Canty, Ratliff, Johnson, Hatcher
LB Ware, James, Ayodele, Ellis, Burnett, Fowler, Carpenter, Singleton, Boiman
DB Newman, Henry, Williams, Davis, Glenn, Reeves, Watkins, Pile
K McBriar, Vanderjagt
LS Laduceour

I would guess the next 5 keepers are Stanley, Hurd, Coleman, McQuistan (edit:IDK maybe Peterman with McQuistan to the PS), and 1 free agent addition from another team.

I keep Sam Hurd and Nathan Jones and move Glymph and Curtis to practice squad. time's up for rector.
