Hells yeah. You can't beat charcoal.

Happy July 4th everyone. Eat lots of grilled meats!

Also, the Sam's Club here in Lubbock and in Las Cruces are selling large bags of lump charcoal for 14.99. It may be a regional thing.

I've heard that lump hardwood charcoal is the way to go.

Nice! i have a similar grill.

I would highly recommend getting one of these to get your charcoal started.

I have used lump charcoal for the last 4 years and have been really impressed. It is ready twice as fast, burns consistently, and frankly is a lot cleaner to handle. One downside can be the price and availability.

I used my Smokey Joe for my festivities today :) Weber makes a mean grill.

I've heard the exact same thing. If I had read this 30 minutes ago, I would have been getting some instead of the usual kingsford. Eh, the king crab won't mind what the heat source under it is as long as its some kind of charcoal.

Save the money for beer or Cowboys gear.......Use two metal coffee cans with holes in the bottom and a pair of channel locks to remove the cans once the coals are glowing.

I don't understand why such a device is even necessary.

Very true, i used to do something very similar to that but you can get one of these chimneys for about $10 at Lowe's and its deeper (holds more charcoal) and has a nice handle already.

I personally don't like using lighter fluids to get my charcoals going but i don't want to spend too much time trying to get them started either. The Chimney is reliable, very easy to use, it works fast, and its reusable.
