Lets review the truth. In the NFL the will use every opportunity to win. The Cowboys lost to the Saints because Jerry Jones lets certain people without experience, learn on the job. Why? Because its not what you know it is how you make Jerry feel in what Jimmy Johnson describe as the "Country Club".

Jason Garrett was privileged in the Country Club when he was hired as the Head Coach in waiting before the Cowboys hired an Head Coach. That is why Norv Turner turned the job down and Winnie the Pooh or Son of a Bum accepted the Head Coach job. Jason Garrett was allowed to learn on the job at the peril of Son of a Bum keeping his job.

Now the Country Club has bit Jason Garrett on the butt as Jerry Jones hired Kellen Moore "Boy Genius" to learn on the job as Offensive Coordinator, Head Coach in Waiting. Kellen Moore had the same privileged experience to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL as Jason Garrett. Both served 2 years as a QB coach in the NFL before being named offensive coordinator Head Coach in waiting. Compare this to Sean McVay who had the following credentials before being the chosen one:
Only Jerry Jones Cowboys Country Club allows inexperience privilege to reign in the Cowboys coaching staff. If your Jerry's club member you get to go 5-11 3 years in a row, 8-8 three years in a row, and get soundly out coached and beaten by a good team with a back up QB that has only started 3 games in the last 4 years. Yes, Kellen "Boy Genius" Moore got out coached and the sad thing is the next "Tom Landry", Jason Garrett, does not have the experience or the will to help him going forward.

Kellen Moore ran into Dennis Allen and his 17 years of NFL experience and Sean Payton's 22 years of NFL experience. But most of all the experience to know that there are lip readers in the Superdome.

Countless times up until a brief moment on the last drive Kellen Moore was calling plays and communicated with the coaches upstairs without covering his mouth. What a stupid inexperience thing to do in the NFL, college, high school or youth football. First of all I am from New Orleans and know for a fact it happens to the opponent side line because the Saints have done worse being punished for bounties and being investigated for eavesdropping on opponents calls. However, lip reading and stealing hand signals is fair game. Everytime I saw the TV with Moore calling out signals not covering his mouth I told everyone watching the game the Cowboys play will not work because the Saints know that play.

If you don't believe me. The only drives and plays that were successful was when they went hurry up at the line of scrimmage. Boy Genius could not figure that out? The Cowboys defensive coach (Richards) covered his mouth on every call (on TV) and held Sean Payton offense to 12 points. What was the score last year? Cowboys 13 Saints 10. So holding an NFL team to 12 points, 0 Touchdowns, and you lose the game is not the defense fault. The Saints defense had given up 28 points, 27 points, and 27 points in 3 games until last night super 10 point defensive effort. The Jerry Jones Cowboys Country Club is accepting new members apply now.

Kellen Moore maybe Boy Genius but the Boy Genius got NFL Schooled by Dennis Allen, Payton, and a very good Saints team that beat the Cowboys 12 points to 10 points. Cover your mouth Boy Genius when you make play calls and communicate with the coaches upstairs see Richards, Allen, McVay and Payton for instructions because Jason Garrett can not help you but only give you a standing ovation.

Who was calling him a genius? If I remember correctly it was only CZ members blinded by the fact he was able to beat three sorry teams.

We like coaches in training. It's what we do. Not going to bury him though after one bad game. See what happens the next few weeks first.

The moral of this story is cover your mouth when coaching. Nobody wants to see that.

To be fair, we also bring in experienced and old guys like Marinelli, Linehan and Kiffen, among others. The reality is Moore is the guy that new the offense. Garrett has 1 year on his contract and Dak’s contract was ending this year among others. If Jerry was looking bring in a new HC if we failed, Moore was the obvious choice for now.

Plus, Moore tend to go up tempo early when the offense stalls. It makes Dak more decisive.

This is one big cause of concern. A lot of the offensive staff is pretty much learning on the job. Moore, Kitna, and Colombo don't have much NFL coaching experience. Can they learn and adjust as the good defenses get more film on their tendencies and schemes?

We are at a crossroads IMO. Either this team improves for the better or things will get ugly very fast.

My only issue with the playcalling was the lack of motion, RPO and that they never tried to move the pocket to give Dak an extra second or 2 to pay them pay for crowding the LOS.

I believe the lack of motion and RPO was because JG wants to keep their simpler on the road. It was the same vs the Commanders for much of the game.

Club members only.

Jason can't help you. He was stripped of play calling in 2012. The OL was better with Callahan also. But Callahan was not a member of the Club. He gets to be fired with Jay Gruden. Maybe he can help Colombo, Kitna, and young master Moore after termination by Washington.

...It was only one game...they couldn't run their normal offense it seems (you tell me why!). The offense they did run was very "Linehan like... Hopefully the Boy Wonder will revert back to his new offensive scheme against the PAC...:star:

Boy Genius is Kellen Moore. Boy Wonder is in the NFL Hall of Fame...Curtis Martin along with his favorite Head Coach who Jerry Jones ran out the Country Club to hire Jason Garrett.

this is not about jerry of Kellen. it's about poor execution by our o-line and d-line. it's about drops by cooper who also couldn't get open. and drops by cobb. and fumbles by witten and zeke (very questionable).

I agree, said way back in preseason that Moore needs to cover his mouth, Also, our hurry-up offense is the slowest in any football league, including high school and pee-wee. The Cowboys could have caught the Saints with their pants down a couple of times last night. But Dak was directing and re-directing everyone. Might as well huddle up if you're going to spend 40 seconds telling everyone what to do at the line of scrimmage. If you want to hurry-up, everyone should know the play up front, line and snap the dang ball.

The next scapegoat.
That so called GM that did not sign UT alumni and Texas native Malcom Brown at DT from the Patriots and let the Saints sign him. 3 years at $5M a year. That is all it would have cost to sign a DT our OL can not block.

on point. there was another poster who said something similar in terms of Moore taking his lumps, I have said it all summer and pre-season, boy wonder kid will take his lumps. has to learn his lessons. he may have the play book (like I can read how to fly a plane), but to actually do it is different....he has to learn. he will have to learn the hard way.....its the way of the NFL....even the great bilicheck went through the same. no one remembers his tenure in Cleveland...
