By simply doing a mock, I can see a scenario where this happens.
It just so happens, I want all three players. I really like Troy Anderson. But Boye Mafe could be a stud in the NFL, and the same goes for Tolbert.
I think Anderson is risky, but not too much a risk. And has the physical ability you want in a 1st round pick. The knock on him is that he's not refined because of inexperience, and the position he would likely excel at the most, linebacker, isn't his natural position. But, the dude is a beast, and I would be happy with their reasoning if they took him. I don't see Andersen making it to us in the 3rd.
Many people think he's farther down, but he's not. I can see him going to the Patriots if we don't pick him.
While I think it's more likely he'll be off the board, in my non-expert opinion, Tolbert could also improve our team's depth.
However, with Gallup, Lamb, and Washington on the roster, I'm not sure how much he'll help improve our team since our more glaring weaknesses can be addressed elsewhere.
This draft is so deep, and I expect Tyquan Thorton to the WR pick anyway, that there are plenty of good receivers after Tolbert.
So, really, I'm torn here.
For me, it comes down to Mafe vs. Anderson. I think Anderson may be a better player at linebacker, but we really do need help on the defensive line, and since it all starts in the trenches, I may be more inclined to take Mafe, rather than my pet cat.
This obviously poses a dilemma.
Your feedback is appreciated.
