By simply doing a mock, I can see a scenario where this happens.

It just so happens, I want all three players. I really like Troy Anderson. But Boye Mafe could be a stud in the NFL, and the same goes for Tolbert.

I think Anderson is risky, but not too much a risk. And has the physical ability you want in a 1st round pick. The knock on him is that he's not refined because of inexperience, and the position he would likely excel at the most, linebacker, isn't his natural position. But, the dude is a beast, and I would be happy with their reasoning if they took him. I don't see Andersen making it to us in the 3rd.

Many people think he's farther down, but he's not. I can see him going to the Patriots if we don't pick him.

While I think it's more likely he'll be off the board, in my non-expert opinion, Tolbert could also improve our team's depth.

However, with Gallup, Lamb, and Washington on the roster, I'm not sure how much he'll help improve our team since our more glaring weaknesses can be addressed elsewhere.

This draft is so deep, and I expect Tyquan Thorton to the WR pick anyway, that there are plenty of good receivers after Tolbert.

So, really, I'm torn here.

For me, it comes down to Mafe vs. Anderson. I think Anderson may be a better player at linebacker, but we really do need help on the defensive line, and since it all starts in the trenches, I may be more inclined to take Mafe, rather than my pet cat.

This obviously poses a dilemma.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Travis Jones
Boye Mafe
Christian Watson
Leo Chenal
Troy Andersen

That's my order of preference for 2nd round pick.

Sam Williams with 3rd pick.

No love for Jalen Tolbert?

I hope we don't get cleaned out. Because I like your list.

Prefer Watson, Pierce, Austin or Shakir to Tolbert.

Tolbert going in 2nd, hoping 1 on my list of WR available in 3rd even 4th.

I like Thorton. Dude is going to be a beast, eventually.

Then primarily focus on BPA on D the rest of the way

I'd agree that Travis Jones would be my dream scenario, but don't expect that to happen.

Out of the three you'd mention, I'd go Mafe > Andersen > Tolbert as I'm convinced you can find a decent WR later, but no so much for the pass rusher or linebacker.

Andersen is pure upside and a lot of people want to make some LVE comparison to Andersen because they're from small schools in the middle of nowhere, similar measurements and white, but Andersen is 10x the athlete LVE is without the injury risk. Dude would help Micah create even more havoc and I'd be thrilled to get him at #56.

Mafe is the one player that really gets me excited. I just don't know how the Cowboys view him. Not saying they wouldn't pick him. Brugler's 2nd/3rd round mock has him going a couple picks before the Cowboys

WR has more flexibility so address other areas of concern first.

WR can still be remedied in trade or FA after draft.

Some of other need positions not so much.

I don't really care for Troy Anderson in the 2nd. A small schooler at a low value position is just too much of a stretch there IMO. He's a good player, but there are lots of other good players still on the board.

Mafe is my guy. He's Quinn's type of RE to a tee.

Lightning fast but rail thin and struggles with separation.

Probably a 5th round.

I'm thinking 6th. He needs time to develop.

Could even be an UDFA.

The more I look at him, the more I see him being a developmental guy. He needs to put on some weight and muscle up.

I tend to agree, that maybe that's the case. But the ceiling is high with him, imo. Lower risk than some think, imo, anyway.

So, I think we have to go Mafe. That is, if we don't go back to the oline.

Agreed! Mafe is a beast!!!!

I am already prepared for

Giants - Dean
Eagles - Harris
Washington - Mafe

That would hurt. We'd have to spite them and go oline.

I personally think that's the way we stay ahead of the division anyway. Keep our oline young and beefy for the future.

WIlliams over Mafe?
i think mafe goes off the board quickly...so i dont think he makes it to us to decide that.
but i've heard more about williams and us than mafe.
i'd take tolbert over both.
but thats just me.
