I disagree about the offense. For years now it's been pretty great when not missing key players (Tyron, Zeke, Romo before he retired).

Defense has been an improving unit for a while now in my opinion but you're right, not there yet and haven't been for a while. Though to be fair there were some games where they handled top tier QBS for a long time but then the offense choked and kept the def out there too long.

only 3 of the roster are over 30 and besides Lee the other 2 are special teams
the Coaches watch these guys every day and dont know how their roster will look in August
anybody (myself included obviously) that thinks they can project season win/loss percentages is guessing

45 out of 90 are new but most of the starters and first men up are familiar faces. Teams probably have 27 new out of 90 every year because you can only carry 53 on your roster and I think 10 on PS. So it's not that hard to predict the bulk of this roster and how it'll work. Give me a link to the list of 90 and I'll make a prediction right now and we can check it in September.

The passing game is the only question mark without Witten or Dez and all these new faces. Personally I think the passing game is a question mark by design - the complimentary skill sets of all these route runners gives Linehan and Dak a tool box to get creative with every week.

Last year I called 9-7 though my reasoning wasn't correct. This year I haven't decided yet so my official prediction is on hold, but I'll take an early guess at 10-6.

You said Beasley and Hurns are locks. So what you're saying then is that the third WR and target distribution is necessary knowledge to predict a record.

Maybe you can't make a prediction over something so specific, but I can. I can make one that's as sound as any other regular season record prediction made in May, anyway.

I made my original comment about the passing game in my one post on the topic, which is the one you quoted and were responding to directly.

In that response you flat-out called me wrong, so wrong you felt the need to apologize. So you're arguing with someone without even reading their point of view and then calling them wrong.

I too will see myself out of this back-and-forth, though I'll be more honest and simply say I don't see a point to it.
