I know we have some injuries and weaknesses, but you got to admit , we were so bad when BP took over and we have made progress, man anybody remember some of those running backs we started with, they ran like glue, man its preseason but we scored thirty last night, I know the Saints are crummy but we are better than people realize, especially the defense, its scary man...

I remember during the Campo years that guys commented that those offenses couldnt put up 30 points if they were on a field all by themselves for the whole game.

I hear people say that this is the year Parcells must prove himself by either a) getting to the playoffs b) winning a PO game c) deep in the playoffs. Otherwise his tenure will have been a failure here. I think that is ridiculous.

I think, as you've stated, there is clear evidence of the considerable progress this franchise has made under BP. I hope we win a SB this year, or soon thereafter but failure to do so will not make this BP era a failure IMO and certainly wouldn't justify firing (assuming he wanted to continue).

Sometimes folks act as if building a SB champ is an easy 3-4 yr formula. Are you kidding me?? Even the best organizations need some things to fall their way.

Parcells has clearly assembled a team that knocked on the PO door last year and will likely break it down this year. Its longevity is debateable given that Bledsoe, Glenn, & TO are all getting up there, but otherwise we are very young to boot.

Parcells has not been perfect. The overconfidence in our 2004 talent was his goof. Rogers, Peterman, Rivera(?), others? are on him as well. But perfection is an unachievable standard and not an appropriate benchmark to measure him against.

To me it is quite clear that the Parcells success in Dallas has far surpassed any other building this org has done in the salary cap era and we will be hard pressed to find an equivalent successor whenever he steps down.

:hammer:

It is amazing to look back at what we had in January 2003 when he signed and what we have now. Back then the QB controversy was basically over which of the two would fail the least. Our RB was Troy Hambrick because we knew Smith was likely gone.

Our defence had a great year in 2003 but couldn't stop anyone when it counted or so it seemed.

Now we actually have a d that has depth and is punishing.

The offence took longer to get going but it seems to be on track now.

We might not have the playoff results and it is only because Parcells is who he is that his results in Dallas are questioned, but he has righted the ship for sure.

that was the diamond among trash roster of 2002. other than the 5 players still on the roster there were some good players who are still serviceable today like:

LB Keith Adams
G Larry Allen
WR Antonio Bryant
LB Dexter Coakley
K Billy Cundiff
S Keith Davis
DE Ebenezer Ekuban
DE Greg Ellis
DE Demetric Evans
WR Joey Galloway
DT La'Roi Glover
P Micah Knorr
G/C Matt Lehr
DT/DE Michael Myers
DT John Nix
WR Reggie Swinton
T Tyson Walter

other than BP wanting his own players, the proof that almost 50% of the roster is still playing in the NFL says a lot about the level of talen Campo had.

I look at that list and I see a bunch of role players being relied upon to be starters. We had a few decent players but by and large, our roster was remedial at best.
