People always say "take best player available" when picking draft choices.

Just for fun and sake of the argument who would you pick at 51 or trade up 10 spots to get if they were there, so basically who is the best player?

Duke Robinson
Larry English
Sean Smith
Percy Harvin
Brian Robiskie
Hakeem Nicks
Connor Barwin
Louis Delmas
Patrick Chung

The dreamer in me says Sean Smith, the "wow" factor is me says one of the WR's and the realist says Duke Robinson

Out of these guys:

1. Connor Barwin
2. Sean Smith
3. Patrick Chung
4. Hakeem Nicks
5. Louis Delmas

I wouldn't trade up for anyone else on the list.

I'd be tempted to look at Percy, just for the simple fact he could instantly improve our punt and kick returning. Not to mention him and Felix on the same field.....

1) English but dont worry he wont get past Miami, so
2) Barwin = how often do you get a guy who can play LB or DE, get some sacks, plus be your 3rd string TE. Mayock loves this guy too and thinks he might be better on offense. Saves you a roster spot.

That doesn't strike me as a viable plan. Just put the guy at DE, it's a more valuable position and he was dominant in his first year playing it.

For me it comes down to Robinson or Barwin who have the most upside. None of the others are players I look for this early in the draft.

Good question and for sure one that's in the eye of the beholder.

I like them all! Give me any of them at 51 and I'm fine.

Robinson, English or Smith ...in that order. I would'nt be surprised if Harvin goes before all of them.

I like em all though.

I'd be thrilled with any of them but I'd take Harvin. Speed kills.

Thats a good list, not sure if I'd trade up for any of them but we do have alot of picks, so if the scouts love one particular guy and think he'll definitely play extensively, moving up 5-10 spots makes sense.

If we only have the one 2nd rd pick on day one (which is the case right now, but could change later) I doubt they pick a WR. Robinson worries me a little but he could probably start from day one. I dont think English will be there. That leaves the safeties, and any of the 3 would be good adds.

Barwin or Delmas, Nicks would be a close second. Honestly I cannot decide between Barwin or Delmas.

If those names are on the board I think the pick will be between Patrick Chung and Duke Robinson with Robinson winning out. I think there will be safeties later in the draft that can give us about the same level of play as a Patrick Chung but to get a top notch guard on the line when it seems as if we are converting to a run first team maybe too tempting.
