With 307 receptions through the first 61 games of his career, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has reached 300 career catches faster than any other player in franchise history, per ESPN Insider Adam Caplan.
Bryant entered Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with 297 grabs through 60 games. He then proceeded to haul in 10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown despite missing a series in the first half because of a shoulder injury, according to ESPNDallas.com.
After watching his Cowboys let a 16-0 lead slide to 16-10, Bryant almost single-handedly extended the lead back to 13 points, catching five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown on one third-quarter drive.
Bryant's 300th career catch occurred earlier in the game when he caught a 12-yard pass in the second quarter to convert a 3rd-and-3 from the Dallas 47-yard line.
The second-fastest player to 300 receptions in team history comes as no surprise. Michael Irvin accomplished the feat in 72 games, per Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. The third-fastest was current Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, who took 73 games to reach the mark.
Bryant, whose rookie contract is set to expire after the season, already ranks ninth on the all-time franchise list at 307 receptions, with his 4,264 receiving yards good for eighth place and his 41 receiving touchdowns good for seventh. Leading the way in those categories are Witten (885 receptions), Irvin (11,904 receiving yards) and Bob Hayes (71 receiving touchdowns).
