Lynnanne Nguyen of Fox 4 News first reported the arrest Wednesday morning and passed along Wilson's mugshot:
CBS DFW confirmed the news via the Frisco Police Department.
Police told Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan (via CBS DFW) Wilson was arrested in the parking lot of Toyota Stadium, where FC Dallas of Major League Soccer were playing a match against against D.C. United on Independence Day.
Fisher noted the alleged assault may have taken place during a fireworks display at the FC Dallas game, and police noted the victim was not taken to hospital.
No further information about what occurred leading to the arrest was immediately released
The Cowboys selected Wilson from the University of Minnesota in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.
The 24-year-old Mississippi native played a limited role across his first two NFL seasons. He's tallied 49 combined tackles, one pass defended and a half-sack while appearing in all 32 games.
Last month, Wilson told David Helman of the Cowboys' official website he was prepared for a more wide-ranging involvement during the 2017 campaign.
"Every day, I've learned something new—so they put more on my plate, because they feel like I can handle it," he said.
It's unclear whether Tuesday's incident could impact his status. Kyle Wilber would be the next man up at strong-side linebacker for the Cowboys defense.
