The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly showing interest in free-agent wide receiver Kenny Britt to pair with Dez Bryant in 2017.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Cowboys are among those expected to pursue Britt due to the belief that Terrance Williams will sign elsewhere.

Britt is coming off the best season of his eight-year NFL career, as he registered 68 receptions for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams.

The 28-year-old veteran had never previously topped 48 catches or 775 yards in a single season.

Although Britt was part of the NFL's No. 31-ranked passing offense in 2016, he managed to excel, especially when running crossing routes, per Brandon Marianne Lee of Pro Football Focus:

The Tennessee Titans selected Britt with the 30th-overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft out of Rutgers, and while he never reached his full potential with the Titans due to inconsistent play and injuries, he finally came into his own as a No. 1 target in 2016.

Losing him would be a huge downgrade to an already poor L.A. offense, but he would add even more potency to Dallas' offensive attack.

The Cowboys are a run-first team with running back Ezekiel Elliott, but quarterback Dak Prescott won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2016.

Prescott did well to utilize the likes of Bryant, Williams, Cole Beasley and tight end Jason Witten, but Britt's size and experience would provide a different dimension to the Dallas receiving corps.

Williams has been used primarily as a deep threat during his career, but the Cowboys are a deliberate offensive team predicated on ball control, and it could become even better in that regard by replacing him with a strong route runner such as Britt.
