Citing a league source Monday, NFL Network's Jane Slater reported Romo "has taken [the] situation very personally in Dallas and has distanced himself from teammates and coach who were 'Team Dak.'"
Romo hasn't offered any hints regarding his future since the offseason started, but ESPN's Jeff Darlington recently shed some light on the signal-caller's thought process.
On March 24, Darlington tweeted Romo "believes it's [Houston] Texans or retirement for 2017." The same day, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported both Fox and CBS have been pursuing Romo as an analyst for their television coverage if he does decide to call it quits.
But for the time being, Romo remains a member of the Cowboys, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted Monday:
And while it was initially believed the Denver Broncos would have interest in Romo, general manager John Elway did not indicate the team has interest in the 36-year-old when he spoke to reporters at the NFL's annual spring meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday.
"The plan is to stay the course there and see what's available in the (April 27-29) draft," he said, according to the Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala. "We'll go from there."
