The only thing that went right for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday was running the football.

They just didn't do it enough.

Darren McFadden and Robert Turbin both had great days against the Green Bay Packers defense, but the Cowboys couldn't do anything with the passing game in a 28-7 loss at Lambeau Field.

Here's some advice going forward with the Cowboys' two lead running backs.

Darren McFadden

It took only nine carries for McFadden to eclipse the century mark on Sunday, with one of those carries going for 50 yards. It was his most efficient day as a Cowboy by far.

It's been an up-and-down year for McFadden in the fantasy realm. Prior to his 11 points in ESPN fantasy leagues on Sunday, he had back-to-back seven-point outings against the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins. Before that, he reached double digits in four of five games.

McFadden has shown in the second half of this season that he has found the fountain of youth. He's ran for at least 100 yards in four of the last eight games, including Sunday. The 28-year-old is also getting more carries compared to the 37 he got in the first five games of the year. He's averaged 19.4 carries in the last eight games.

If McFadden is only going to get 11 carries a game the rest of the way, then there's no point in starting him. Now that the Cowboys, hopefully for their sake, realize the season is all but over, maybe getting more carries for McFadden is a possibility.

Keep him around on your roster, and play him with caution. He's healthy and playing at a great level. McFadden may win you a playoff game this year. Think about it.

Robert Turbin

The newest Cowboy running back had his best game in a Dallas uniform on Sunday, averaging just over seven yards per carry and scoring the only Cowboys touchdown on the night.

For those who had McFadden as their lead running back and didn't think of starting Turbin, the touchdown probably came at a terrible time. ESPN fantasy analyst Matthew Berry definitely thought so:

What's even more shocking is that it was Turbin's first career rushing touchdown. He hasn't been known as a guy you can rely on in fantasy for that reason. This was also the first time this year the 26-year-old has gone over 10 points in fantasy.

This may be an opportunity for Turbin to get more carries, considering the Cowboys' issues at quarterback that were evident once again on Sunday, but don't trust Turbin as a waiver-wire pickup this late in the season. McFadden would be a much better play.
