Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray became just the second back in team history to rush for three touchdowns on Thanksgiving as he led Dallas to a 31-24 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

Due to his 63 yards and three scores on 17 carries, Murray was named the 2013 Phil Simms All-Iron Award winner:

As ESPN illustrates, Murray joined a prestigious name in franchise history with his special performance:

Perhaps more importantly, Murray helped fuel the comeback victory.

His second and third touchdowns were especially impressive:

Murray had scored just four touchdowns coming into the game, so his three on Thanksgiving were certainly a surprise. Then again, an early fumble by Oakland to set him up inside the five made his life easy.

Of course, it's also pertinent to mention that Murray had a fourth touchdown negated thanks to a penalty.

Murray now has 697 yards and seven touchdowns this season as the lead man for the Cowboys. That's a career-high mark in touchdowns, and should he stay healthy, Murray may be able to flirt with his career-high of 895 yards.

One thing was very apparent on Thanksgiving—Murray is extremely effective when used in a committee with fellow running back Lance Dunbar. Murray was able to play off Dunbar's 82 yards on 12 carries to the effective results.

Murray and the Cowboys now sit at 7-5 and alone atop the NFC East for the time being with Sunday's action on the horizon.

On Thanksgiving, Murray was the star of the show and the rightful winner of Simms' prestigious award.
