Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant showed up to his Friday press conference and showed remorse for his three-day hiatus from the team after injuring his knee during Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, via Todd Archer of ESPN.com:

Things could've been done a lot different. I could've done a way better job on my part. It was more so on really not wanting to see what was going on with my injury. Luckily, it was way better than what I thought and everything is good. And I'm just ready to get back on that field whenever that time is.

Bryant suffered what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport initially described as a sprained knee during the first quarter of Sunday night's game when he was taken down awkwardly by Christian Jones:

While he stayed in the game and caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown, Bryant was originally scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday. But Bryant skipped out on the MRI, treatment and the subsequent team meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday without contacting the team.

On Thursday, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett expanded on why Bryant, who is facing team punishment, went missing, via Marc Sessler of NFL.com:

Right after the game on Sunday night, he got some information about his knee and he suspected it was a serious injury. He's a very passionate guy, like we've talked about, and he really thought he was going to get some bad news when he got the MRI on Monday. Like some of us do in life, at times, he avoided it and didn't come in to take care of his business on Monday or Tuesday. Then he came in on Wednesday and took care of that part of it (the MRI). We got the information. He suspected it was worse than the information that we got.

The final tests showed that Bryant suffered a hairline fracture in his knee and is considered week-to-week, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

When asked about his knee Friday, Bryant said it is "getting better each and every day," via Archer. But he did add that he won't be playing in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers, per Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News.

Without their largest offensive weapon, Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott will look to tight end Jason Witten, wide receiver Cole Beasley and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott to pace the offense against a 49ers team that's given up a total of 83 points in their last two games.
