Arbitrator Appointed for Hardy's Appeal Hearing
Thursday, May 7
Hardy sat out all but one game for the Carolina Panthers last season as he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list after being charged with assault against a woman.
Even so, the NFL decided to suspend the 26-year-old pass-rusher for the first 10 games of the NFL campaign. Hardy appealed, as expected, and now, the pieces are in place for his case to be heard.
According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1, Harold Henderson, who also heard Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's appeal, was appointed as the arbitrator:
It is a somewhat controversial choice since Henderson's ruling regarding Peterson was criticized:
There is no question that the Cowboys are hoping for a more favorable decision this time around since they rolled the dice on Hardy this offseason in an effort to improve their anemic pass rush.
Hardy had 15 sacks in his last full season, but unless Henderson sees his case differently than Peterson's, he won't be approaching that number in 2015.
